One of the strongest impressions I'm left with after watching this episode is that there was a lot of filler in this episode: the elongated chase scenes, the firing range, etc. Despite that, I thought it was rather good.

It's interesting to see how the various members of the cast deal with the visions they see. Owen's choice at the end not to kill Morgan wasn't surprising, but it looked to me as though he had the murder weapon and might have been able to hand that over to police...had Morgan survived.

I think a device which shows possible futures is probably not very useful, a device which shows probable futures would be better, and one that show THE future would be something of a pandora's box. Wonder if we'll ever see it used again.

I find myself wishing once again that this show would stick to sci-fi, and not wander into the realms of fantasy, as it seems to do every episode so far. Emotions are energy? Electrochemical energy at the bridges of certain synapses perhaps. I guess it just goes hand in hand with the idea that orgasms are energy too, but I just dislike this stuff. Not that I dislike fantasy, I just like to keep it separate from my sci-fi.

I loved it. I thought the idea was a good one and brought to screen well. There was also enough twists and turns to keep me guessing. I'm not sure about Jacks speech at the end though, for me it wasa bit cringeworthy. Looking forward to the Cyberwoman next week.

I loved this story too. Absolutely brilliant. Made me hungry for more episodes. This filming again was fantastic, the action sequences looked necessary and not too long and the characters worked well. I was hooked in from the start of this episode. It's great o have a decent show back on TV and I'm glad it's differnt from Dr Who as well, otherwise I'd rather that another 13 episodes of Dr Who to be made.

I'm so looking forward to next weeks Torchwoord with the Cybermen and an adult spin on them. Looks a genuinly scary. Looks like it's going to be a lot more graphic then a Dr Who cyberman story.

Okay, just want to ask how people are seeing Torchwood. Is it on pay TV or something? If so, that sucks for us poor people.

A better episode than the first two.

The idea of highly emotional events leaving "memories" or "recordings" in the surrounds was also used in "The Stones Tapes" back in the 70s. (Available on DVD last I checked). So while not an original idea it's still a good one.

The story would have been more effective if the writer had managed to link Owens use of the date rape "aftershave" (ep.01) with his viewing of a rape and murder and the effect this has on him as he realises what he has done in the past and how it impacts on others lives.

This would have made a better ep.02 with Gwen getting a feel for the job, receiving training and learning her way around the Torchwood base.

Found out yesterday that the elderly gent in this episode was played by Gareth Thomas, the man who played Roj Blake in Blake's 7.

Once again I found this disappointing. It had a lot of potential, but it just ending up being too predictable and a little dull. I don't know. Maybe it's just because I'm viewing it on Channel Ten and the ads are just ruining the flow for me. But it all seems a bit average.

This didn't really do anything for me. I felt the scenes took too long (especially the shooting scene - you'd think a cop would have some idea how to manage a gun!) and it just wasn't as interesting as the others. I also found it odd how Tom Flanagan just blabbed his life story to Gwen. But I did like seeing a different side of Owen, and it was really shocking how Edwin died.

Torchwood has its second fall in the ratings with the screening of Ghost Machine.

From Phantom at knowfirst.info in Sydney, Ghost Machine got ratings of 774000 down from 895000 for Day One.
