First of all, I don't mean to nitpick but the series is just called Marple, there is no "Miss" in the title.
Quite enjoy Sleeping Murder. It was quite interesting to see Paul McGann and Sarah Parish together in this as they were also together in the TV movie If I Had You which was on 7 last year. Also Una Stubbs (Edith Pagett) was in Paul's BBC7 Doctor Who story Horror of Glam Rock. |

I know that Marple is the actual title of the series, but the series does 'star' Miss Marple, if you get me.
Kudos for knowing the other Who stars in the cast (I didn't recognise any other names )
I did enjoy the show though, even if it wasn't much like the book at all.
Have you noticed that future episodes feature even more DW stars |

Oh yes I definitely have.
Other Who stars who were in Sleeping Murder were Anna Lousie-Plowman (Dalek), Dawn French (who was in a Doctor Who sketch included in the Curse of Fatal Death video) and Nickolas Grace (Big Finish story Bang-Bang-a-Boom). |

Thanks for that Theta Sigma, as I was watching I was having a "damn, I know that face" moment. It nagged at me throughout the whole show! I feel extremely sheepish now
It must be a sign I haven't watched Series 1 enough and I shall go have and have a Whofest immediately. Mind you, the other half didn't pick up on it either, so that makes me feel a little better. |

You're Welcome.
By The Pricking of the Thumbs:
This story was not originally a Marple story as it was a story featuring Tommy and Tuppence also created by Agatha Christie hence their appearance here. If this was the BBC's way of introducing these characters to today's audiences then I much prefer that they had been introduced on their own and not use Jane Marple as a pretext to their introduction.
Having said that I enjoyed this more than last week's Sleeping Murder.
As to Who faces in this story: Bonnie Langford and Leslie Phillips (Big Finish story Medicinal Purposes). |

The Moving Finger:
Who stars in this episode were Harry Enfield (Curse of the Fatal Death), John Sessions (Death Comes to Time) and Jessica Stevenson (in an episode of the 2007 season). Also featured Sean Pertwee, Jon's son.
As to The Moving Finger itself, did not enjoy it at all. It felt like it was dragging on and on. |

Following the start of Robin Hood season 2 on Sunday February 3 2008, will be the return of Marple with the story Nemesis. Nemesis features Graeme Garden (whose contribution to Doctor Who had been the Big Finish audio Bang-Bang-a-Boom), Richard E Grant and Anne Reid.
Edited to clarify Graeme Garden's contribution to Doctor Who.

I hardly think appearing in a Big Finish audio is what many people will remember Graeme Garden for! The appearances (past and still to come) of the Goodies in Doctor Who audios habve previously been discussed at this forum... |

Well The Goodies is not part of the Doctor Who universe hence why I did not mention it.
Looks like an explanation is required of how I am doing things: I have said in another thread in this section that my approach to this section is for people who have done any form of Who not just actual Who.
I am not discriminating those who have only done non-TV series Who.
I was not trying to bring up a discussion of Graeme Garden's performance in the said Big Finish story just the mere fact that he has done a Who (albeit on audio). |

Nemesis:
This was quite enjoyable. Much better than I expected.
Noticed in the preview for next week that Tom Baker is in the next one. The story is called Towards Zero. |

In the scene where Lee Ingleby's character is standing with Miss Marple by the gravestone, I noticed something strikingly familiar about his image:
Okay, so the suit didn't have pinstripes, but other than that... |

Towards Zero:
Tom was delightful in this.
Next week story is Ordeal by Innocence and features Denis Lawson (whose contribution to Doctor Who was as narrator of the documentary A New Body At Last on the Logopolis DVD), Burn Gorman, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Camille Coduri. |

This may be stupid question but I watched that episode and didnt spot Graeme. Which character did he play?
Hard to spot without the side burns. |

| I did not notice him as well but did see his name in the credits as playing Matthew Broadribb. Don't know who that was. |

| From memory, Matthew Broadribb is a minor character in Nemesis, serving largely to draw Jane Marple's attention to the mystery and otherwise playing no important role. Nemesis was the last Miss Marple novel written, so he never appeared again. |

Tonight's episode trial by Ordeal by Innocence was a veritable Who convention. Firstly, there was Burn Gorman (Owen, Torchwood), then Bryan Dick (Adam, Torchwood) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Tash Jones, Doctor Who).
What surprised me most though was the time shift Richard Armitage (Guy of Gisbourne, Robin Hood) made. He was extremely good as Phillip Durrant. |
