| On the bright side it hasn't ended up at Saturday 4am which was when the last remaining episodes of Jake 2.0 & The 4400 season 3 was shown months ago. |

| At least we will get to see the whole series. Not like some shows that just disappear completely. Hopefully the ABC will pick it up from next season. |

That's what generally happens to science fiction TV shows on the commercial networks in this country - even the decent TV shows.
I am surprised that it took this long to happen to Torchwood. |

| The article said they bumped it coz their viewing figures were going down. Don't they realise this might have something to do with the fact that it was on after Big Brother?! |

You are ascribing to commercial TV executives a level of common sense. From experience, they have none.
At least they are replacing it in the first week with a show of total fantasy, albeit one that won't be watched by anyone with a modicum of intelligence.
In other words, and I'm sure that the Ten executives know this with absolute certainty, they are playing to their core viewer constituency.
I think we all realised when Ten took Torchwood that they'd can the show at some stage and put the remaining episodes on at some ridiculous hour. At least it made it half way through the series.
The VCR and digital recorder will come in handy.
By the way, did anyone else notice that they've set aside just one hour for the show this week? They'll either shred it or run way overtime. |

| I knew this would happen. They did the same thing to Veronica Mars and it was brilliant. And the X-Files. Anything that requires a IQ over over .00043 to understand is knocked back by this network. Bunch of tossers. |

I wasn't offended by what you said, sorry if it sounded that way. Just worried as to how I'm gonna get my fix of Jack. |

it sounded presumptious of me to assume everyone has cable....but i know what you mean....we need our "fix" of Jack and to have 10 to that is sooooooooo annoying |

Torchwood's move to its new slot is mentioned by Andrew Mercado in today's Sydney Sunday Telegraph:
"Ten's Tomb raider
Tomorrow night [Monday August 6] Ten tries to spoil ER and Shark's debuts by screening the James Cameron special The Lost Tomb of Jesus.
So what's happened to Torchwood? Yep it's been dumped to midnights on Tuesdays, [technically it's Wednesdays] confirming every sci-fi fan's worst fears that the Doctor Who spin-off would eventually end up in late-night hell, along with The 4400 and Battlestar Galactica.
Couldn't Ten have given it one last try in prime time on a Saturday night instead of those unimaginative Law & Order and NCIS repeats?"
Doctor Who and Torchwood both on Saturdays would have been a great idea.
I have mixed feelings about Torchwood's new slot. The new slot is really an inconvenience for me as I have a class early on Wednesday mornings. However since it is no longer on Mondays there is no clash with Shark & Boston Legal on 7, so Torchwood's move to its new slot is not all that bad for me. |

Hi all,
I've chopped off the last several posts of this thread and made them into a new NCIS discussion, down in the 'A Holiday for the Doctor' part of the forum.
That'll help any NCIS fans wanting to talk about actually find it, rather than hanging off the end of a Torchwood discussions. |

Does Ten want me to get any more ANTI-TEN?!?! That mob give me the irits.
They were crowing about viewing figures for Big Brother on it's last night - but i reckon the only reason ratings were so high was because everyone was waiting for Torchwood to start and didn't want to change channels in case Ten suddenly realised BB was *amazingly* over time!
I am angry. |

Considering some of its content - and the context in which it was presented - I think that 21:30 hours was ideal for it. |

| True. But considering the quality of the show, I don't think it was worth staying up for. |
