Received word that Don S Davis (General Hammond) has passed away on June 29 after suffering from a massive attack.

Davis was to turn 66 on August 4. A tragic loss at such an early age.

Atlantis season 3 ended last night on 7 but would not be going to season 4 straightaway. This means that apart from Summer breaks, this is the first time that 7 has been Stargate-free for quite a long while.

Meanwhile Stargate Continuum is available on Wednesday August 6:

At my sci fi club screening last night watched Atlantis 4.7 to 4.13 and what a surprise on who turned up in 4.8 The Seer.

It was Martin Jarvis playing the episode title character. I for one was surprise to see him in Atlantis.

Isaac Hayes has passed away at the age on August 10, ten days before his 66th birthday.

Hayes who is well known for being a soul singer made four appearances in SG-1 in four episodes as Tolok in The Reckoning two parter & Threads (all from the eighth season) and as Teal'c PI Announcer in the 200th episode during the tenth and final season, 200.

Atlantis will end with its fifth season next year but Atlantis will continue in what is hoped to be a series of Atlantis movies (presumably straight to DVD) like its parent SG-1.

The fifth and last season will end on a cliffhanger with the resolution to be in the first Atlantis movie:

I've heard that the end will be clean and not a cliff-hanger at all.

Well as the old saying goes only time will tell.

On Friday saw Stargate: Continuum.

Was not satisfied with the execution of the storyline. It could have been better.

Meanwhile there will be a third SG-1 DVD movie.

From Wikipedia:
"Third Stargate SG-1 DVD Movie — Considered for filming in early 2009
Brad Wright stated this film would center on the Jack O'Neill character, and it is Wright's goal to reunite as many of the SG-1 cast as possible, depending on the cost of the film and actor availability. Wright has already started work by late July 2008."
