Unfortunately this Atlantis episode as with the other season 3 episodes has not yet been shown by 7. I have no idea whether the reference to the Atlantis episode will remain intact or be cut out for the broadcast.

The reference was kept intact for the broadcast. |

By some other means I finally saw the first episode of the animated series Stargate Infinity two days ago. One should only watch this if one feels that it is something to get over and done with.
Shortly afterwards my sci fi club had a screening for the first season of the 90s version of the Outer Limits. This version of The Outer Limits was overseen by SG-1 developers Jonathan Glassner and Brad Wright. We saw seven episodes picked out at random and so it was remarkable that two of the episodes that was chosen featured Don S Davis with one of the episodes The Voice of Reason the season 1 finale has him playing him another general. The other episode was called Living Hell. We had a huge chuckle when he first turned up in both episodes. Chuckle of joy that is. Incidentally The Voice of Reason featured excerpts from past episode including Beau Bridges from the series first episode The Sand Kings.
For me these are the fourth and fifth non-Stargate TV episodes that I saw Davis in this year. Early in the year I saw him in The West Wing on the ABC and more recently I saw him in a The Sentinel episode on Sci Fi and due to some other means I also saw him in the pilot for Psych (which has yet to be shown on Australian TV).
Meanwhile Atlantis has been renewed for a fifth season (warning the following article contains a spoiler about season 3 which has not yet been shown on Australian TV):

I saw the episodes with a group of people on the season 3 DVD release that someone brought alone. The season 3 DVD was only released this week.
I am hoping to see the last two episodes of season 3 without the need to get the said DVD release myself sometime very soon.
|
Well I don't need to get the season 3 DVD release now as I saw the final two episodes on Friday. I also saw the first episode of season 4 and it featured Yee Jee Tso. This is the not the first time that Yee Jee has appeared on Stargate as he appeared briefly in the SG-1 episode Absolute Power.
The three said Atlantis episodes are worth the wait if watching it on television is your only option. |

Today is December 3 2007 and it was on this day ten years ago in 1997 that Stargate SG-1 first screened on Australian television on 7 at 8:30pm. It came after the debut of another show that has achieved quite a following - Buffy, the Vampire Slayer.
The tenth anniversary of SG-1 on Australian television comes almost two weeks after 7 finished showing the series in its original broadcast run.
Happy 10th Anniversary being in Australia, SG-1. |

The original Stargate movie was briefly mentioned in last night's At The Movies on the ABC. This came when Margaret mentioned the film among the ones that Roland Emmerich's did in his career as his latest movie 10000 BC was the first that they reviewed.
For the curious Margaret and David really did not like 10000 BC. |

Last week saw the Ark of Truth with a group of people and the DVD included a small ad for the next DVD movie Continuum which has been advertised for released in Summer 2008 meaning a release this December.
As for Ark of Truth itself I quite enjoyed it. It was definitely better than Battlestar Galactica: Razor which we saw immediately beforehand.
The Ark of Truth got a small review by Andrew Mercado in yesterday's Sydney Sunday Telegraph in which he gave it three stars with a "Must see" label.

Cameron J Mason at the Doctor Who Forum has corrected me on this as Summer 2008 refers to North American with a Region 1 release in July. The Australian release should be shortly sometime afterwards. |

I would tend to agree with that rating. One thing is for sure, the humans are becoming proficient at losing control of replicator technology. |

Last night I finished watching with a group of people season 2 of Eureka and in three consecutive episodes it each featured a SG-1 actor all of whom had played doctors in SG-1.
Teryl Rotherly was in God Is in the Details, Lexa Doig in Maneater & Michael Shanks in All That Glitters.
We had a chuckle in All That Glitters when Shanks' character mentioned Atlantis. His character was making reference to the legend of Atlantis but it is also quite obvious that given who Shanks is, was also intended as a reference to Stargate Atlantis. |

Last night watched Atlantis 4.2 to 4.6 ahead of 7's broadcast. Yee Jee Tso was in one of them in 4.4 Doppelganger.
Of the five episodes 4.2 Lifeline is heartbreaking while 4.6 Tabula Rasa is a highlight. |
