| Anyone remember Blackpool in which David Tennant and Sarah Parish played lovers long before they appeared together in The Runaway Bride. Well the sequel Viva Blackpool, a 90 minute one-off will be shown on UKTV on Saturday February 2 8:30pm but it did not involve either David or Sarah. It does however features the appearance of Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Tish). |

Gugu only appeared briefly at the beginning. In the credits noticed Malcolm Thronton was credited as the production designer. Thornton had designed on Doctor Who for Logopolis, Kinda, The Five Doctors & Planet of Fire.
It was quite enjoyable and features the very beautiful Megan Dodds. She has not yet appeared in the Whoniverse but I think she would be a good choice for Romana. Well judge for yourself:

Watched about 5 minutes of it yesterday. Even compared to the original, which I thought was a bit weird when I first watched it, this was just bad. I can't comment on the plot, because I only watched a bit of it, but in the song/dance sequence I saw the choreography was horrible, the lip-synching reminded me of Ashley Simpson and the sequence itself was pretty weak. A part of it looked like it had been lifted right out of Grease. |
