Filming on the Spooks spin-off Spooks: Code 9 has started and will debut on BBC3 later this year.

The premise of the series:
"The drama is set in 2013, when London has been evacuated following a nuclear attack, and MI5 must establish field offices across the UK."

The series stars the beautiful Joanne Froggart and focuses on the six young spies recruited to help set up the new Field Office 19.

Noticed the following from Wikipedia:
"Following the success of the BBC Three Doctor Who spin-off series, Torchwood, the controller of BBC Three, Julian Bellamy, announced a Spooks spin-off entitled Spooks: Code 9"

This is the first time that I have heard that a spin-off of a show became the reason for the spin-off of an unrelated show.

Also from Wikipedia the regular cast of Code 9 include Georgia Moffett who plays Kylie, a psychology student who has just returned from her gap year.

The rest of the cast are the following:
As mentioned before Joanne Froggatt is the lead of the series playing Hannah.
Liam Boyle is mathematician and problem solver Charlie.
Ruta Gedmintas is ex-police officer Rachel.
Heshima Thompson is Jez a former criminal gone straight.
Christopher Simpson is Vik.
Andrew Knott is Rob, a junior doctor.

I also read somewhere else that Chris Chibnall is a writer on this show.

20/7: Just found out that James Moran is also a writer on the show.

The first 10 minutes of the first episode is available to view at the BBC Three site at http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/. It looks quite interesting.

Its (UK) debut airdate is said to be on August 10.
