DoctorWhoNews.com has reported on the passing of Bernard Archard.

Archard appeared twice on Doctor Who, the first was in 1966 in Patrick Troughton's debut story The Power of the Daleks as Bragen and in 1975 alongside Tom Baker in Pyramids of Mars as the possessed Marcus Scarman.

I feel very saddened by the loss of Bernard Archard because years ago before I started buying the videos and DVDs, a recording of Pyramids of Mars on UKTV was the only Doctor Who story that was available for me to watch (shortly after recording it Foxtel was no longer available at our household and we didn't get it back until years later).

So I have seen Pyramids of Mars countless number of times and Bernard Archard was superb in being the spooky Marcus Scarman.

He was born on August 16 1916 and died May 1 2008. Aged 91.

Incidentally Archard died exactly six years after the death of former producer John Nathan-Turner in 2002.
