I couldn't see any other place more appropriate to ask for help than here, so here goes.......

The TARDIS box set, first disc, second episode, is okay for first ten minutes or so, then pauses, breaks up a bit, continues for a few moments then breaks up really badly, and proceeds to jump, in (quick) stages, to a few minutes from the end. Repeated attempts to view have shown some variation to the bits that run, but essentially its pretty much the same. The first episode was fine, including all the extras.

Quite disappointing, really! Especially as the box hadn't even been opened and disc never played, despite being purchased about 18months ago. Yes, yes I know, really hard to believe, but I still have my video recordings and have watched all my favourite eps several times, so felt no great need to diminish its pristine status. In fact, I thought I might leave it as such, and start dropping hints for someone to buy me the Series again, in its skinny form.

All of that changed, however, when the ABC began running promos for the repeat of the series on ABC2. Not having didge telly, it seemed like a good time to crack open the TARDIS door and watch it again, episode by episode, as they were being broadcast. Best laid plans....etc, etc.........!

Has anyone else experienced this problem? What causes it? Who should I contact? (Greg suggests Village Roadshow, so I've given that a go on-line, but I'm not sure if I've got the correct site.) Any ideas? Especially if whoever the distributors are decide they can wash their hands of it because the set is that old.

If that happens, is there anything I can do to fix the problem? I've only ever seen this before on a download lent to me by a friend, not on new DVDs, but then I don't have many DVDs, new or downloads, not having the money to spend on that sort of stuff. My one big splash-out (really big splash) and I've got a mal!!!! I don't know if it's more than one episode, as I've been too disheartened to keep watching.

SO PLEASE, HELP!
