| Season 23 is technically on story, The Trial of a Time Lord. However, it's often broken down into the four components listed below... |

| I voted for the last whole story written by Robesrt Holmes, The Mysterious Planet. It has a number of bits of Holmesian greatness, but it certainly isn't his best (although better than The Two Doctors, his story before this one...). |

| Not one of my favourite seasons. I found it to be a bit boring to be honest. Maybe it will seem better on the next showing? Out of them I would say The Mysterious Planet is my prefered story. |

a poll with only one choice would have been amusing
I'm going for The Mysterious Planet. |

This is a tough one. I enjoy the whole season, and I have grown to appreciate Mysterious Planet more and more over the years.
But this time I have voted for Terror of the Vervoids. I won't boycott it just because it was penned by the dastardly duo Pip & Jane Baker. It was a good story and the Vervoids were scary. Or at least, as scary as they would dare for season 23. The director did a good job and it had the best incidental music of the series.
One thing I really enjoyed about this season was the relationship between the Doctor and Peri. They'd seemed to have got over their confrontational relationship of the previous season, and they were beginning to be very comfortable with each other. Very nice. Such a shame to see her go. |

| Gee - this is hard. If I have to choose it would have to be Mysterious Planet. |

Oh not true! In its own season alone, The Two Doctors is likely to be rated 2nd or 3rd on most lists (with the grossly over-rated Revelation of the Daleks in the number 1 spot...) |

| I think the Trial of a Timelord season was a bad idea. Towards the end I got very tired of the trial idea. I've gone for Mysterious Planet - Bob Holmes is the best |

The Mysterious Planet.
Terror of the Vervoids wasn't bad. Mindwarp is somehow depressing to watch & The Ultimate Foe does not seem very satisfying as the conclusion. |

The Ultimate Foe.
There's just something about this story that's pitched right for me. The sets are finally to my liking in this season, the Valeyard being the Doctor was a revolutionary idea at the time and basically I think the psychadelia was pretty cool. Ignoring Mel and the pretty stupid conclusion - I think it's one of the strongest stories of Colin's entire run. |

The ultimate foe for me. I thought it was confusing at times which is just the way I like my sci fi.
