Howdy,
I remember some other guy doing the opening posts for each new episode. Seemed like a popular thread so I thought Id restart it.
After seeing this episode I found it was a little.. camp. Some scenes did seem quite silly, The 'witches' were not that intimidating (although I loved the voodoo doll stuff). I never really got a sense of a threat in this episode. Even at the end. The Doctor seemed on top of the game all the way through the episode.
One thing I did pick up on was the interaction between Shakespeare and Martha. Esp his expression on her racial type. I have to applaud the BBC and Dr Who for addressing the race issue. While I understand Doctor who is fictional, its good when they address how society was with the time travel aspect. Its great to see how easy we get offended (we being Martha in this case) by the common view of that period when people believed that was the norm. It was a few minor scenes but It was very watchable.
I give the episode 5/10 |

Hi Hiruma,
the threads on season 3 discussion are in the season 3 area - have a look there to see what other people thought of The Shakespeare Code ans well as Smith and Jones and The Runaway Bride - and probably a new discussion every Sunday!
I'm closing this thread down to avoid undue duplication. |
