Thanks, Greg. I knew about the false quote used by the people marketing the film, but I also knew that that had occurred after Moore had read the screenplay. I was curious as to what it was in the screenplay to which Moore objected, and the article you linked to hasd answered that. As usual, Moore makes some very good points, and I have nothing but respect for him choosing artistic integrity over money.

There's new trailers for Superman Returns and Pirates of the Caribbean 2 available online...

Superman Returns:

http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/supermanreturns/trailer2/

Pirates OTC 2:

http://www.moviewallpapers.net/module.php?section=potc2

They both look promising. In particular, Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor seems to have been an excellent casting choice. I hope we get to see plenty of Lex in the film...

Of course, seeing Superman flying about was quite cool too. I'm really looking forward to this one.

Oh yeah, it seems there'll be Sentinels in X-Men 3 as well. Yet another one I'm really looking forward to. Here's another, rather short X-3 trailer:

And here's the clip featuring the Sentinel:

There's a 7 minute 'preview' of X-Men 3 available here:

Lots of spoilers though.

X3 got reviewed in At The Movies on the ABC this week. Margaret wasn't too glowing about the film giving it only 2 1/2 stars while there was no critique from David who only mentioned when the film will be out.

Meanwhile Variety has reported that there is going to be a remake of The Witches based on the novel by Roald Dahl.

Just found this out:
http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=0&id=36265&type=0

This is the first time I have heard about Coraline so what do people already familiar with the story think of this adaptation of it?

I just saw X-Men 3 and thought it was great. Lots of action, some unexpected plot twists and special effects the likes of which I've not seen before. A real tour de force.

On the down side, I think they tried to include too much - too many characters from the comics. The Juggernaut and Angel in particular suffered from a lack of a siginificant part, I thought. Hope that's not considered a spoiler...

Hank McCoy - the Beast - was in fine form, and I thought the actress they chose for Kitty Pryde fit the role rather well. Colossus' American accent annoyed me a great deal - too much, in fact, considering he had about one line, but still...

The surprises I'll hang off discussing in more detail, until others have had a chance to see it. One thing I will mention though is that there's a scene after the credits, which is worth staying back to watch. It puts a slightly different spin on certain events...

I wasn't all the fond X3. There was actually quite a bit in there, more than enough to make a bloody good film, however most of it was wasted.
Most notably: The 'Cure', we had a little bit of discussion about it, but there should have been more. For instance will they now find a 'cure' for being Homosexual etc. We could have got reaction from people who took the 'cure' i.e. if they regretted it and wanted to be Mutants again, or if they are much better off now.
The film was only 104 mintues long, it could have pushed 3 hours.
Lastly, Brett Ratner had no real style of directing.

Oh, I didn't see that extra scene (Damn!) could someone maybe PM me with what happened, or perhaps do a post with spoiler space.

PM has been sent with that info, Mike

I see that some pictures were posted recently of some cars from the upcoming Transformers film - Bumblebee is apparently going to be a Monaro of all things - but the site where the pics were has removed them. I'm curious if anyone knows where they might still be seen? I've had no luck tracking anything down...Sad

Megatron's going to be a futuristic jet fighter, apparently, but Optimus Prime will still be a truck. I have no idea how accurate these rumours are though...

I just saw Superman Returns. I thought it was pretty good, but I was hoping for bigger things. Kevin Spacey was great as Luthor, while Routh was a bit flat. I'll be curious to see where they go with things if they do a sequel.

Just found out this morning the movie Bobby which is about the last day in the life of Senator Bobby Kennedy when he was assassinated.

The movie must have gotten something right as it has been given a good review by the Kennedy family. Be interesting to see this myself.

Coincidentally I saw the documentary Bob Kennedy- The Man Who Wanted to Change America just a couple of days ago on the ABC.

Does anyone know anything about the Transformers movie? Is it going to have annoying human characters?

Margaret and David in At The Movies has given Casino Royale a glowing review, each giving it four stars with Margaret saying that Daniel Craig is the best Bond since Connery.

However they were less impressed with A Scanner Darkly:

Fantastic! I personally can't wait to see it. Also, I'm not sure if this is true, but I found out that Daniel Craig and Eva Green (the Bond chick in the film) will go on to become Lord Asriel and Serafina Pekkala in Northern Lights, part one of the His Dark Materials trilogy. For anyone who's a fan of the books, how bloody exciting is this?!

Looked very interesting from the clips that were shown.

Went to see Pirates 3 yesterday and if people are yet to see the film, do not leave when the end credits roll in as there is an extra scene after the credits.

For people who have already seen it but left when the end credits came on, go here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirates_of_ the_Caribbean: _At_World% 27s_End

and read the last sentence of the Plot section.

Cheers for that, TS. I saw the film last week, but missed the extra scene.

Mind you, right now it's all about the Transformers film for me. The trailers look amazing. Can't wait for the 28th June!

I love the Silver Surfer but really didn't like the last fantastic 4 so I doubt I will see it. Is anyone else in this dilemma?
