Talisman:
Directed by John Schneider. Nothing wrong with his direction, however did not like Nathaniel Archand's performance as Jeremiah.
It becomes really good towards the end.
Unfortunately I did not notice who got the knife first, Lex or Lionel who has been prophesised as Clark's greatest enemy.
That preview of the next episode is really good. |

| The penultimate episode of season 3 was quite enjoyable, the season finale on March 30 gets four stars from Who Magazine. It is revealed that in the season final someone gets killed. Unfortunately I found out by accident a couple of years ago who it was (thanks a lot 9 in stop showing it and not bother to show it again). |

Covenant:
Wow this is such an amazing conclusion to the third season.
Adrianne Palicki (Kara) who I previously saw on Supernatural does very well in this episode of Smallville.
As I said before not surprised but still sad to see Chloe getting killed.
Pity that Clark did not say goodbye to Lana.
Very effective that haunting music at the end as we certain events all at once.
The voiceover for the preview says that Clark finally meets his destiny as Lois Lane finally arrives in Smallville. Well I can't wait to finally see Erica Durance as Lois. |

Smallville is being sued by the Siegel family as Mr Chimpey posted the following at the Gallifrey forum:
Variety reports that the widow and daughter of Jerome Siegel, originator of the comicbook series SUPERBOY, is suing the WB over SMALLVILLE.
A federal judge in Los Angeles has found that WB's show may be infringing on the copyrights held on the Superboy character. The summary judgment also found that Joanne Siegel and Laura Siegel Larson had successfully recaptured the SUPERBOY rights as of mid November 2004.
The lawyer for Siegel and Larson told Variety, "Jerry Siegel's SUPERBOY focuses on Superboy's relationship with his parents and his adventures with school classmates in a small town which, by SUPERBOY #2, was named Smallville."
Warner Bros. said in response that it "respectfully disagrees" with the rulings and will pursue an appeal." |

Crusade:
The season 4 opener. Funnily enough Stargate SG-1 (as well as Doctor Who of course albeit as a serial) also has an episode called Crusade and I saw that SG-1 episode as part of a SG-1 marathon just six days ago.
This episode is a Superman fan's dream a current Lana and a former Lana and a current Lois and a former Lois. Now we have gotten used to seeing Kristin Kreuk and Annette O'Toole together in the series but for Erica Durance's debut as Lois we also get to see Margot Kidder as well. Margot playing a character who is an associate of Dr Swann who just happened to have been played by the late Christopher Reeve. Margot as Dr Brigette Crosby says that she and Dr Swann were lovers in another lifetime. Quite an obvious in-joke to the Superman movies.
Amazingly Margot looks way better here than she did in the Earth: Final Conflict episode Termination just three years before.
Yippee I finally get to see Erica as Lois but surprised she is not in the title sequence and is credited as "Special Guest Star".
Allison Mack is still credited in the title sequence as it is revealed at the end that Chloe is still alive.
Jensen Ackles joins the cast. Earlier in this thread, Ickabod mentioned that he was actually the second choice to play Clark. I am also seeing him in Supernatural which is also shown on 10.
Cute line by Lois about geek with glasses.
Very spectacular seeing Clark fly.
For the first time ever black Krytonite is introduced.
I wonder what is happening with Lana.
Waiting for Erica to turned up on Smallville is reminiscent of waiting for Jeri Ryan to turn up on Star Trek: Voyager since Jeri too had first turned up in the fourth season of her show. I am so delighted to finally see Erica just as I was in seeing Jeri on Voyager. |

Smallville was a special subject in yesterday's Einstein Factor. The person who had Smallville as the special subject, Erica dealt with seasons 1 to 4.
At the moment 10 has only shown the first five episodes of season 4, however thankfully there were no future spoilers in any of the questions. (Unless you decide that Clark does not yet wear the Super cape for the rest of season 4 as a spoiler).
It was really a close game but Erica lost out by 300 points tied with another contestant Kim for his special subject on Bobby Fischer at 1700 points against the winner Alan Stewart for his special subject on stamps at 2000 points. Incidentally host Peter Berner mentioned Alan as an SF author and Hugo Award winner. Yet he did his special subjects on stamps!!! |

Transference:
Oh my Clark and Lionel switched bodies. Yet another story in general deriving from this theme.
I quite surprise and of course relieved that Lionel did not think about dropping that tractor on Jonathan.
Thanks to Lionel being in Clark, Clark gets into a pickle with Chloe and Lana especially about finding out about her and Jason.
I thought it looked a little bit too easy that Clark and Lionel got their bodies back. I mean Lionel in Clark was going to killed Clark in his body. Surely Lionel in Clark would have anticipated that Clark in Lionel was going to use that device.
For once, John Glover was good at being the goodie.
Lionel has no memory of the switch but loses his liver cancer in the process. Should have known that Lionel was not going to die that quickly.
Margot Kidder is credited in the opening guest credits. While watching the episode it slipped my mind that she was going to appear since she only appears at the end. I wonder what she wants from that device. |

Meanwhile Smallville has been renewed for a sixth season but Aquaman looks to stay underwater as the project will not be picked up:
http://www.kryptonsite.com/
"As if there would be any doubt... Smallville will definitely be on the CW's Fall 2006 schedule for its sixth season, to premiere mostly likely in September.
The CW will be making their formal announcements on Thursday, May 18. We're assuming that Smallville will continue to anchor Thursday nights in the 8PM time slot.
Unfortunately, we also have some bad news to share: It appears that the Millar-Gough Aquaman TV project is sunk, and that The CW has passed on the project. This is quite unfortunate considering the amount of Internet buzz and press the project had achieved; we can only imagine this is due to the competitive nature of the WB-UPN merger. Official confirmations should come on Thursday when the schedule is announced."
This was posted a couple of days ago on the Kryptonsite and the CW has since made its announcement confirming what has just been reported. |

Jinx:
This was OK. The only part of the episode that really impress me was at the football game towards the end of the episode when Clark did the touchdown and saved Chloe at the same time.
Why did Lex get Jason fired I wonder and what is the room that he showed Mikhail. According to TV.com however we probably not going to see more of it at least not on 10:
"The Level 33.1 plotline was dropped after this episode by the producers because they felt that it didn't fit in with the show's targeted viewers, even though some scenes related to it were scripted and shot. However, it was brought back in the Vengeance Chronicles - short episodes aired on the Internet and hosted by Chloe, and included on the season 5 DVD. "
More than an hour after this episode finished I saw Trent Ford (Mikhail) in The West Wing episode Privateers on the ABC. |

Spell:
Yippe Erica's back as Lois.
Quite fun seeing Kristin, Allison and Erica playing against character as their characters have been possessed by witches.
In fact I think Kristin is much better as Isabelle than as Lana.
In the cave Clark wakes up with the three girls as they have been dispossessed. Oh my how I would like to be in a moment like that.
At the end of the first and the last ad break SOUL was advertised as being the proud spoonsor of......Supernatural. Perhaps there has been confusion due to the presence of Jensen Ackles being a regular in both.
Also during the ad breaks was the Neutrogena ad with Kristin. |

Alan Stewart returned in yesterday's show and Smallville gets a brief mention by Peter Berner about him beating it the last time around. |

Bound:
A very good mystery episode as Lex gets framed for murder. Definitely well paced leading to the resolution which turned out that Lex was set up by a former flame who Lex did not remember. As his female lawyer, another ex-flame, says they all look the same to him.
The scene with Clark and Chloe in the elevator was funny.
Jane Seymour makes her debut as Genevieve Teague, Jason's mother who bizarrely Lana first saw in a dream even before meeting her. A plot that is definitely need to see more of.
This is not the first time, that given Jensen Ackles' presence, that previews of Supernatural was shown during the ad breaks. However this time around when Supernatural ended the last ad break with a picture of him on the screen, Bound then came back on with a shot of Jason as played by him getting into his mother's limo. Perfect timing.
The preview for next week is wow as 10 is really promoting the show with Superman Returns in the cinemas three weeks from now. |

Earlier in the year I posted that Smallville was coming to FOX8. It seems the schedule from the Foxtel guide was either false or there was a last minute change as I did not follow it up as a promo of it was shown a couple of nights ago while I was watching Dead Like Me. The promo says that Smallville will debut on FOX8 on July 1.
Meanwhile Smallville on June 22 is TV WEEK's highlight of the day. |
