Yesterday in a marathon at my uni sci fi club saw the rest of SG-1 season 9. This is the first time that I have seen an entire season of SG-1 before it was even shown on 7.
It is a very top notch season, it is worth the wait and the finale is very explosive is all I am going to say.
The season finale Camelot is of interest to us Doctor Who fans as a prop from the 1996 TV Movie can be seen. You will know what it is when you see it. This has probably has something to do with the fact that the Doctor Who TV movie and SG-1 both have the same Production Designer - Richard Hudolin. |

| This morning I found out that 9 is bringing back Farscape (apparently from the beginning) at 2am Tuesday April 11 starring current SG-1 stars Ben Browder and Claudia Black. I guess that something to watch while waiting for 7 to show SG-1 season 9. |

| Last night in the Family Guy episode Jungle Love on 7, Beau Bridges got a mention on the show as the Griffins wonder if they know him. |

Now we should all know that Don S Davis played General Hammond and Ronny Cox had the recurring role of Senator/Vice President Kinsey.
Well in the Medium episode Judge, Jury & Exectioner which I finished watching this morning it featured a guest stint by Ronny Cox. This is perhaps coincidental but worth mentioning is that the name of his character is.....Hammond. |

I don't know if they actually have shown more episodes, but my dad attempted to record it only to find out they were repeating an footy game instead oh well, the dvd box sets can solve that!
Getting back to stargate:
I do wish channel 7 would stop fooling around and show season 9 of sg-1 and season 2 of atlantis, it is starting to frustrate me.
To make it worse they will probably show sg-1 all the way through before they show atlantis like last time |

Saw the last 12 episodes of Atlantis season 2 in a marathon at my uni sci fi club.
The penultimate episode is definitely one to watch while the finale does not exactly top the SG-1 season 9 finale which was shown on the same night on SCI FI but it is still good enough. |

| Thanks to information posted by Madds at Buffy Down Under, SG-1 will return in its 9th season on 7 on Thursday June 29 11pm. The 11pm timeslot is probably not going to be a surprise to a lot of people. |

In the Dead Like Me episode In Escrow on Fox8 it feature not one but three people who had recurring roles on Stargate SG-1, Teryl Rothery (Janet Fraiser), Peter Williams (Apophis) and Tom McBeath (Mayborn).
Teryl had already appeared in a couple of earlier episodes while another SG-1 recurring actor Gary Jones (Walter) appeared briefly in a much earlier episode in the episode Reaping Havoc.
From the previews Tom McBeath will appear in at least one more episode of Dead Like Me. |

Saw Ronny Cox in the Commander In Chief episode Ties That Bind shown on 7 last night. It had him playing a.........Senator. His SG-1 resume must have been handy when he got this role. |

Just as I thought Tom McBeath does appear in one more episode of Dead Like Me in the episode Rites of Passage which was shown a couple of nights ago. |

Oops the name of that Commander In Chief episode was called The Price You Pay not the Ties That Bind if people wanted to track down this episode in future. |

SG-1 on July 6 comes second in TV WEEK's highlights of the day.
In the last three episodes of season 7, William Devane played the President. In the case of interesting casting, William Devane had earlier appeared in The West Wing episodes The Dogs of War & Jefferson Lives as the Secretary of State shown on the ABC last week. In the latter episode the Secretary of State became the President's choice as Vice President but was withdrawn due to objections of his suitability being Vice President. Some comeback Devane makes by becoming President on SG-1!!!
However since SG-1, Devane was demoted to Defence Secretary in 24. |

SG-1 returned to 7 last night with the season 9 opener Avalon Part 1 and I was quite surprised to see the new title sequence even though I already seen the entire season. This is because I saw them as they were shown in the US and the title sequence did not appear until episode 11. For its US transmission from Avalon Part 1 to episode 10 of this season, the title sequence was only about ten seconds just enough time for viewers to see the name of the show and the creators credit but not the names of the regular cast. Their names were instead shown during the teaser sequence.
Ben Browder is in the lead role while his former Farscape co-star Claudia Black is a Special Guest Star. Funnily enough 2 1/2 hours before this episode was shown their Farscape colleague Wayne Pygram was a guest star in the Lost episode S.O.S.
The ad breaks seemed to come very quickly.
When it was first announced that Browder was going to join SG-1, there was a suggestion that he may play Daniel's brother due to their physical resemblance with each other. Although this did not happen, there was this scene in which Daniel and Cameron looked at each other just as Vala commented that Earth had a limited gene pool!!! |

A brief comment about Avalon Part 2 last night, I have to say that when Daniel and Vala were in that couples' bodies it made me think of Quantum Leap. It didn't occur to me to think of Quantum Leap when I first saw the episode last year.
Two and half hours before this episode started Beau Bridges was seen briefly at the end of the My Name Is Earl episode Quit Smoking in the preview in next week's episode of that show. That would be interesting to see. |

In one of these scheduling coincidences, two people who were in Origin last night were seen in other programs on 7 prior to its broadcast earlier in the night.
Before appearing in his regular role as General Landry, Beau Bridges was in the My Name Is Earl episode Cost Dad the Election. Funnily enough I noticed the following at TV.com which I did not realised before:
"Carl: You know i ran into John Sheppard down the street.
This is very likely a inside joke.
Beau Bridges (Carl) is currently 1 of the stars on Stargate SG-1, the name of the main character in it's spin-off series, Stargate Atlantis, is called John Sheppard."
Then later on Julian Sands (Doci) was in 24 in a recurring role which was on just before SG-1 also as a villain. |

| Found out from Who Magazine that Richard Dean Anderson's guest stint in The Simpsons episode Kiss Kiss Bang Bangalore will be on 10 on July 25 7:30pm but the magazine has given it two stars. |

Saw that Simpsons episode last night and it was very unfunny. Quite a waste of Richard Dean Anderson's time. The episode featured briefly a Stargate convention which he was attending. Despite being MacGuyver and Richard Dean Anderson fans Patty and Selma are apparently not fans of SG-1. I would have thought the sisters would watch SG-1 just to see him.
For those you who missed it:

Another thing is that the episode was co-written by Homer's voice Dan Castellana who himself has appeared in SG-1 as the title character in Citizen Joe. |
