During an ad break of Coyote Ugly last night on 7 featuring The Christmas Invasion's Adam Garcia, caught part of the preview of the new series How I Met Your Mother and what really got my interest is that it features Alyson Hannigan. No date for the show only that it is coming soon but I will definitely an eye out for it.

Earlier I posted that How I Met Your Mother was scheduled to debut on June 21. Madds has since posted info at Buffy Down Under saying that is no longer the case and it is now TBA although TV WEEK mentioned the debut to be on June 28. We have to wait and see on this.

Pilot:
Begins in the year 2030 as Ted tells the story to his kids of how he met their mother. Then we go back to the year 2005.
Alyson gets the "And" credit.
Saba Homayoon (Yasmin) is pretty.
Love to have been that five year old in Lily's class.
Love it when Lily was wearing an eyepatch.
Funny that Marshall tells Ted to kiss the crap out of the girl he just met.
Ted saying "I think I am in love with you" to the girl certainly got the shock from everyone.
Surprising that the taxi driver joined them in the bar.
We do not know the girl's name until the end when Ted tells his kids that is how he met their Aunt Robin. I really wasn't expecting that.
I have a feeling we won't finding out anytime soon the actual story of Ted meeting his kids' mother.

Despite the end, it was quite a fun beginning to this show.

Purple Giraffe:
Didn't enjoy this one very much.
This is more about tying up the loose ends from the pilot.
Amazing how the party could be thrown in just two hours not to mention for three nights in a row.
I am not satisfy on the explanation of who Carlos is.

Sweet Taste of Liberty:
Ted and Barney follows two girls on a plane. Absolutely unbelievable.
Although seen a few times over the ads, Barney being told to sit down after unbuckling his seatbelt is still funny.
It turns out the girls have boyfriends. Nice going Barney.
Even though it was so not believable, Barney still says that they were international businessmen when questioned by airport security. The moral of the episode is that an airport is not a good place for a pickup.
What Lily did with her lips was very silly.
Sasha's place was such a bust.
So knew that the girl that Ted talked to was not his kids' mother.

Return of the Shirt:
Funny how long it took Barney to say "You dumped a porn star."
Unbelievable that Ted broke with Natalie twice on both occasions on her birthday.
What happened to Robin on her last news report in this episode was very very very unexpected.

Okay Awesome:
Like it when Marshall mimic Claire when saying "I'm three months pregnant" only for her to be right behind him.
If Marshall and Lily did not really land on their feet when jumping out of their apartments then I guess it is up to our imagination on how they really got out.
It's too bad that Ted made a cock-up with Kelly on the dance floor as she is gorgeous.
Marshall and Lily being bored in doing grown up things instead of doing what they usually do goes to show that if it works don't fix it.
The flashing was quite fun.
Barney dancing with the girl who turns out to be his cousin would have been much better if 7 had not used it for a preview beforehand.
Ted sure broke his promise to Barney on not telling anybody of what just happened with the cousin. After all why else do we know about it now.
Not surprised that the coat check girl wasn't the one.

Slutty Pumpkin:
I deliberately saw Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl as a result of Marshall dressing up as Captain Jack which was shown in the preview last week. If it weren't for this episode it probably took me forever to see it.
Liked Barney's entrance as we first see him dressing up as Tom Cruise's character in Top Gun.
Liked the laid joke.
Very funny of seeing Ted with Barney as the Devil and some other guy as an angel as was Barney still as the Devil telling the angel to go to hell.
It was such a shock the penguin turning out to be Barney.
In reference to Lily's costume, Marshall said that he had sex with his parrot. Thanks goodness he did not mean that literally as it would have gross.
What a lovely final scene of Ted and Robin.

Next week: Camryn Manheim appears. That is interesting to see.

Well it happened again of seeing Alyson in Veronica Mars a night after seeing her in How I Met Your Mother. The Veronica Mars episode this time around was Hot Dogs and it just happened to come after 10's showing of her movie American Pie: The Wedding.

Meanwhile the Camryn Manheim episode on August 10 gets two stars from Who Magazine.

Matchmaker:
Camryn Manheim guest stars. In The Practice, her character's name is Eleonore. Here it is the similar Ellen.
Ellen tells Barney that she was going to beat him up if he doesn't leave. I would definitely love to have seen that.
Barney wrote the name Jack Package. How tacky is that?
Amazing how Ellen eliminated the whole plenty of fish saying.
So funny that Lily keeps on drinking Barney's drink in reaction to the thing that she and Marshall saw.
Quite a disturbing view of the thing walking under the phone book.
Shocking when Lily came up with the name Cockamouse.
Ted asking Sarah on a date had already been shown in one of the ads prior to the show's debut so her response did not surprise me.
That was such a funny scene leading up to Marshall throwing the cockamouse out of the window.

Preview for next week: Barney and Robin. What the....???

An hour and a half after this episode ended saw David Boreanaz in the debut of his show Bones. This means I will be seeing two former Buffy stars on the same night in weeks to come.

The Duel:
Oh my Lily's apartment turned into a Chinese restaurant. Come to think of it something similar had happened in Little Britain.
The phone call between Barney and Robin which 7 teased us about was a way to get Barney out of his date.
An English phone booth in Ted and Marshall's apartment. Too bad it isn't the TARDIS. I suppose it is a coincidence that this episode also featured a sci fi restaurant.
Barney cooking naked. That is definitely something I don't want to see.
Marshall saying about Lily that she is suddenly his fiancee. Who else would she be.
That is such a shock Lily getting stabbed accidentally by Marshall with a sword.
I guess to be expected that Barney talks about his date with Jackie even though they were in the hospital.
Funny the way he says Jackie O.
Very cute that they are having dinner at the Chinese restaurant that used to be Lily's place. Coincidentally the Bones episode The Man In The S.U.V. featuring David Boreanaz shown later in the bight also featured a Chinese restaurant.

Belly Full of Turkey:
Ooh... that ball hitting Lily's head.
Shocking to see Barney as a volunteer, then being revealed as Volunteer of the Year before the real reason why he was volunteering got revealed.
16 cups of mayonnaise for that recipe.EEW!!
Like Barney's word of "Thankstaking".
Knew that Lily wasn't pregnant since it is too early in the show to explore that plot.
So so funny when future Ted told his kids of how he really met their mother only to say that he was joking.

The Pineapple Incident:
What an irony about vampires being brought up as a subject given Alyson's presence.
Nice mention of Thurston Howell.
So funny when a very drunk Ted sang on the phone.
Barney in a tub!!!
Shocking that it was Barney who set Ted on fire.
Unbelievable that Ted got back to the bar twice.
I was so sure I knew who the girl in the bed was, only to be proven otherwise.
This was very very good but the one thing that was not good about it is that we do not get to find out what that pineapple was all about.
