I have not yet seen last week's episode but the episode on July 14 comes fourth in TV WEEK's highlights of the day.

Mars vs. Mars:
The only thing I have to say about Brooks' history class is that none of the history classes that I attended has ever been like that.
Leighton Meester who would soon have a regular role in the short lived TV series Surface appears here. So nice to see her. She plays a character called Carrie. Since Veronica immediately assumed that she was lying I wonder if she was named after the title character of the film Carrie.
It was quite a nice twist when it is revealed that Carrie's story was true except it wasn't hers. I knew shortly beforehand that Brooks was somehow guilty of what he has been accused off. This plus the fact that he was cleared when the episode was not yet near the ending.
Logan's worst fears about her mother has been confirmed by a movie only for Veronica to find out that there has been activity in his mother's credit card. Wonder what is going on here?
Veronica finds out that Abel Koontz and who just happens to share the same doctor as the Kanes is dying. So typical, only those with nothing to lose will risk prison.

Lately I realised that I now seeing three shows that has a character called Logan in it: Veronica Mars, Point Pleasant & 24.
Bizarre coincidence.

Ruskie Business:
When the Russian mail or to be precise Internet order bride appeared in Keith's office in order to find her fiancee who she has yet to meet, it made me think of the Wonderfalls episode Lovesick Ass which also had a Russian mail order bride looking for her fiancee.
Delighted when Alyson Hannigan's name appeared in the credits and it was a surprise that she turned out to be Logan's sister Trina who has been using Lynn's credit card. Alyson's appearance means that I have seen her on Australian TV for two nights in a row as it came after the night of seeing her in her regular role in How I Met Your Mother on 7.
Nice twist of the Internet order bride turning out to be from the Russian mob hunting down her so called fiancee who is in Witness Protection.
Laughed when Veronica says "I cannot escape from Tom Cruise".
The best part of the episode comes at the end when the mysterious caller to Veronica turns out to be her mum and that was quite an abrupt ending.

Betty and Veronica:
So knew upon seeing it where the name of the episode came from; both named after characters in the Archie comics who were both trying to woo the title character. It seems the students at Pan haven't read the comics since they never heard of Riverdale.
Quite interesting how Veronica's reunion with her mother got shown; by showing small bits throughout the episode and linking them to what is currently going on.
Funny that the principal asked Veronica to find the missing mascot and what a good opportunity for her to make her demands.
Between the show's break in February and this episode I got to see more of Kyle Secor (Jake Kane) in his regular role in Commander In Chief which was shown on 7. In fact he got to appear with Alona Tal (Meg) in that series when she guest starred in the episode State of the Unions. Felt somehow weird after having seen him in Commander In Chief to see him back as Jake Kane.
Shock seeing the goat in the van.
It was a good thing I got to see Carrie just a couple of months ago otherwise I would not have understood the reference that Veronica made to that movie.
As it turns the parrot was stolen in-house.
Big surprise comes at the end when it is revealed that the dying Abel Koontz has a daughter. Hence why he needs the money.

Like the preview for next week as it disses Morse, Angela Lansbury and Frost saying that Veronica is better. She sure is.

On the weekend, The Chaser got a bad news coverage for a practical joke they made. The Chaser clashes with Veronica in its timeslot on Fridays and therefore I just like to say that I am so glad that I am watching Veronica at the same time The Chaser is on.

Also I should say that Veronica along with Peter Davison as The Last Detective on the ABC are the only TV detectives that I am currently watching.

However I have bad news as posted by Madds at Buffy Down Under. Veronica will be pulled off the schedule at the same time that Big Brother finishes its current season. I have no idea when that would be.

Madds has posted at Buffy Down Under a message in another forum saying that Veronica has been given a reprieve and that in the post-Big Brother schedule she will be still be on Friday but after the Friday night movie around 10:30pm.

Kanes and Abel's:
Loved Veronica using the words "orgy of tension" when describing the midterms. That is exactly what exams are.
Loved it when Hamilton called Sabrina as "Sabrina, The Teenage Witch". I don't blame him as she didn't endear to me either.
Logan tells Veronica that Duncan had a fit of rage the week that he and Veronica broke up. It would be understandable if Veronica had dumped Duncan instead of the other way around.
I don't think Hamilton should have withdrawn from the scholarship due to actions of his father.
Really hated that Clarence Wiedman got to Amelia. Had a really bad feeling about this the moment she mentioned her boyfriend early in the episode.
Here is an interesting thing, Celeste had long hair when Lily was killed yet in Veronica's scenarios and Keith's memory of what happened back then it had Celeste with short hair as she is now.
Episode ends with implication that Duncan may have been the one to kill Lily.

Preview for next week: Veronica and Logan kissing. What the....?

Weapons of Class Destruction:
Quite a shock the way Veronica and us the viewers finding out that Keith is seeing Wallace's mum Alicia.
Delighted to see Joey Lauren Adams as Geena Stafford.
So cute Veronica mimicking Ms Roush's voice in order to get information from Van Clemmons.
Ben turning out to be an undercover agent was definitely a surprise as he looked too young to be one. It seems that every TV show that takes place in a High School always has someone undercover posing as a student. I last saw this happened in Boston Public.
Veronica and Logan kissed. I wonder what's next for the both of them.
It was so fun Veronica taking charge of the school paper after Geena left the room.

Hot Dogs:
Cute title although the dog storyline did not interest me that much.
Good Alyson is here again and just after 10 showed her movie American Pie: The Wedding not to mention that once again it came a night after seeing her in her regular role in How I Met Your Mother. Not so good is that the fact she is no longer a Special Guest Star and her name came under the bland Guest Starring label.
Trina mentioned wanting to get her boyfriend Dylan off her back with Logan saying to try standing up. Come to think of it I did not realise the precise meaning of standing up for yourself. Quite educational and yet most people are asleep at this time to learn this lesson about life.
Love how Veronica presented the Cockroach Award.
Shocked to see Trina with a black-eyed and beforehand I thought it looked weird of her wearing the shades and walking very funny which I then realised that she was actually limping.
Dylan sure got what he deserved from Aaron.
Funny that Keith placed files of Lily in the box marked "Playboy".
Did Weevil take out a secret message from Lily and if so what was it?

M.A.D.:
Spooky casting Natalia Baron as Carmen. She had also played a character called Carmen in Boston Public but that is not the spooky part. The spooky part is that whereas Carmen here in Veronica Mars is a student in Boston Public she is a teacher. Who knows perhaps Veronica Mars & Boston Public takes place in the same universe and Carmen's appearance in Veronica Mars occurs before Boston Public. Now all someone has to do is come up with an explanation why she has a different surname for each show. That is my fun theory.
Clarence Wiedman threatens Felicia's job if she doesn't end her relationship with Keith. Looks like there was a plot purpose for them being together.
Still could not get used to Veronica and Logan as a couple but Veronica finds out something disturbing about him as she finds out more about the night of her rape. Be interesting to see how Logan makes an explanation of this.

A Trip to the Dentist:
We only find out what the title means near the end of the episode and it ain't very nice. Coincidentally earlier in the day prior to the episode's broadcast, I actually had a trip to the dentist, literally as it my time for my six month checkup.
Keith suggested that Veronica should tried out some other job. I really can't imagine Veronica ever doing that.
We finally learn what happen that night at the party when Veronica was raped. She wasn't really raped at all since it was Duncan as he felt ashamed sleeping with his sister. Of course we still do not know for certain whether the two are actually siblings.
That was quite a shock Keith calling Cheyenne for her services only to revealed that she knew Abel Koontz.
The surprise party was not only a surprise for Logan but for his friends as well.
The ending was definitely something I did not expect.

Even though 10 will not be showing season 2 immediately after season 1, Australian fans will be pleased to know that I have found out from the Sydney Sunday Telegraph TV guide that 10 plans to show season 2 during the Summer non-ratings period and that they also have rights for season 3.

The first season finale gets five stars from Who Magazine with the following review:
"The best finale ever!
In a season ender that could teach Desperate Housewives a thing or two about intrigue and Lost a helluva lot about pacing, teen detective Veronica nearly dies when she works out who killed Lilly."

Australian fans will pleased to know what I just found out from Madds at Buffy Down Under:
"From tvaus.com

There maybe some hiccups in the Schedule in some states during the Footy Finals, but it is on-going in that timeslot for the time being.

I believe that the First Season 2 Episode will be aired on Friday September 1st, then there will be a 3 Week Break due to Footy Finals, & then it will continue after the Movie on Friday nights."

Leave It To Beaver:
The end of season 1 and we finally learn who killed Lilly. I had an inkling beforehand of who it was but somehow I was hoping that I was to be prove wrong but wasn't. From hindsight I guess it was obvious the clues to the murderer's identity.
So delighted that it is proven that Keith is Veronica's father. Nice of him to say "Who's Your Daddy". By the way Father's Day is next weekend.
I wonder who Veronica greets at the door.

Normal Is The Watchword:
The episode beginning with Veronica as a waitress made me forget for a short while of who Veronica greeted at the door.
I like the new title sequence.
So delighted to see Charisma Carpenter as she made a stunning entrance in this episode with that bikini.
Surprise to see Steve Guttenberg in this episode.
So surprise to see Veronica back with Duncan as we led to believe that Logan was her current boyfriend.
Sad to see that Veronica and Meg are no longer friends. I would really like to see them patch things up as they were very good as friends.
Wow that was a shocking end.

Last night I saw Teddy Dunn (Duncan) in the Grey's Anatomy episode Band Aid Covers The Bullet Hole on 7. This is the first time I have seen him outside of Veronica Mars and the character he plays in this Grey's Anatomy episode is a bit different from Duncan. At least it was something to watch while waiting for Veronica's return on 10.
