People who are only seeing the show on 10, I have bad news for you as Madds from Buffy Down Under posted the following:

Yesterday I watched the Buck Rogers episode Shgoratchx! and it had reference to the Cylons. It came when Buck found a ship of little generals who had weapons which doesn't work anymore and one of them said that the last time they used their weapons was hundreds of years ago fighting off some Cylons!

Battlestar Galactica is over on 10 for now without the viewers knowing about it as Madds at Buffy Down Under posted the following:

Channel 10 says it will be back (probably) in January 2007 in the same or "similiar" timeslot.

Frack 'em. They deserve to lose money.

Go buy the DVDs.

Last night I saw the Story So Far, recap of the first two seasons, The Resistance webisodes and the first five episodes of season 3. Story So Far is a good recap, The Resistance was nicely done and the season 3 episodes were all top notch especially episode 4.

Coincidentally last night, the night after I saw those episodes I saw Jamie Bamber in The Last Detective episode Dangerous Liasions alongside Peter Davison. However Peter was not the first Doctor that he has worked with since he also worked with Paul McGann in Hornblower.

Funnily enough the previous time I saw the BSG episodes ahead of 10's transmission, the Family Guy episode which spoofs The A-Team and included a Cylon was shown on 7.

Wonder if any other BSG cast member or BSG references will be featured on Australian TV other than BSG itself, the next time I see more of the BSG episodes prior to 10's transmission?

Battlestar Galactica (the current version) got mentioned in last night's O.C. episode Cold Turkey on 10. This occurred when Seth asked some homeless people if they had seen the season 1 final of the show. Apparently one hasn't and the reference ended with Seth explaining that Starbuck is now a woman.

Meanwhile here is an update on the show itself:
Michael Trucco (Samuel Anders) has sign on as a regular on the show:
http://community.livejournal.com/hotcupofanders/4044.html
"He just signed to be a regular!

Don't ask anything more specific than that. I don't know. It's not on his official site yet, so I'm not entirely sure what it means."

Hey, if you rushed out and bought the S2 boxed set of BG to find out what happens in the second half of S2, (frack you channel 10 for taking it off till next year); and are hanging out for season 3 episodes, and you have a friend or relative in the USA who's willing to let you use their credit card and home address for billing purposes; you can LEGALLY download H264 copies of the first 8 episodes from "itunes store USA".

Yes you can download them here in Oz, provided you have a USA billing address.
But you cannot legally download them here in Oz without a USA billing address.
Copyright laws. Designed in the dark ages for the 21st Century "World Market".

Don't you love the spin you get from the big companies about "FREEDOM, DEMOCRACY AND ALL THAT STUFF .."; but when it comes down to it, you consumers will do as you're are told and like it. Market forces? Giving the consumer what they want? Frack that.

Australia & MEXICO have the same DVD Region code of 4 ????????????
Explain that one.
Oh right. The USA considers us both 3rd world countries. We just speak better englis ... opps sorry ... "American".

Found out from Madds that BSG's return has changed from Monday January 8 11:15pm to earlier that Monday at 12:45am as it has been paired up with The 4400.

Spinoff Caprica has still not been greenlighted:
http://www.geekmonthly.com/news/2007/01/16/scifi-exec-talks-up-galactica-4th-season-talks-down-caprica-spin-off/#more-230
"Caprica still not green lit
On the subject of the new Galactica spin off, there is still no news of it being picked up. [SCI FI Executive Vice President David] Howe does not sound as optimistic about the show, telling iF:

CAPRICA is a pilot amongst a list of pilots that we have in development. We make the decisions about pilots in two to three months. We had a pilot meeting about a month back which was inconclusive. In about a month’s time or so we’ll sit down and take a look at what we have in development and CAPRICA is in that."

The Captain's Hand:
The first commander of the Pegasus seen in the series, Admiral Cain was played by Michelle Forbes as I have mentioned before. In this episode the Pegasus' commander is played by John Heard. Interestingly both Ms Forbes and Heard later had/have a recurring role in Prison Break. Amazing casting.
