With the Face of Boe's last words, Sir Jacobi to play a character possibly called The Professor(very Time Lordy) it seems this may be all connected to The Doctor's number 1 foe... The Master!

Check the above article for more but I must stress this is rumour alone until confirmed by the BBC. |

... and so the great back catalogue of yesterday's ideas continues to be scraped dry. What next, the return of the Candyman? Can we let has-beens remain has-beens? The Master was good in the first few Delgado stories, pretty cool as a bloodied heap of gore in the post-regenerative phase, but had shrivelled to a moustachio-twirling circus act by the end of the Ainley era (and that's ignoring his phoned-in peformance in Survival). I was only 9 when he was zapping people with the tissue compressor thing, yet I wet myself laughing at the little dolls he collected.
Derek Jacobi, however, is warmly welcomed in any capacity. |

I'm a big fan of the Master. Perticually Anthony Ainley in the Davison era, and i think RTD has done the right thing by allowing the Master to enter the new series of doctor who and not just rely on the reoccuring Daleks and Cybermen. I don't agree about John Simm being the Actor for the Master, hes a good actor, but not a good Master.
Like i said, RTD has done the right thing (for once) by introducing the Master to the newer audience all he needs to do now is not over use him and make good episodes with him in it.
And since the Master has been confirmed, i think we can say goodbye to the roumor about the Rani comming back. We don't need another repeat of Mark of the Rani. But i still think the Sontarans roumor is real. |

| I'm pretty sure they're not Sontarans. They look like them in the Series 3 Trailer, but from what I've read elsewhere - even from stuff RTD himself has said, if I remember rightly - they're not Sontarans. I doubt they're even related... how could you be related to a clone species? |

| Maybe it's possible the Judoon have been made deliberately to look like Sontarans, as a red herring of sorts. I also think, and hope, we'll see Sontarans in season 3. |

If you like Sontarans, BBV audio did a few non-Who Sontaran plays. Very good they were too.
If they have the Sontarans, you'd think they'd have the Rutans in there as well, seeing as that war is all the two ever seem to worry about.
Zygons would be awesome...... |

| I've always thought that we should see the war between them... considering the Sontarans are a clone race, we only ever seem to see a couple at a time. Waste of potential. (You could argue the Cybermen are the same, but they're designed for survival and are generally rather pitiful. The Sontarans are warriors and there should be many of them). The Rutans would lead to some awesome double crossing, I reckon, of "I am NOT the Doctor - I am a Rutan!" proportions. |

From Doctor Who Online:
Of all places to get even more confirmation of a rumour that has been flying around for weeks, we finally learn from John Simm's fellow Life on Mars cast members speaking on Soccer AM this morning (24/2/2007) that he is away filming Doctor Who' and that he is playing The Master. |

Awesome,
Its been a while since Ive been back here (and hopefully that login cookie problem is long gone). I was gonna wait to start back when the new Season started here. I couldnt wait. Thanks for the link Meglos.
Ive noticed there isnt a place like last time where one could discuss the episodes as they aired in the UK... I remember it being in a different section of the forums.
Thanks for the info on the Master. I hope they just dont open the candy bag too quickly and really stretch out the revelation of his character.
Its a shame Gary Oldman wouldnt say yes. |
