In case people who do not yet know, Dreamwatch Sci Fi has reported that the 2007 season of Doctor
Who will begin its terrestrial broadcast in the UK on March 31:

This was only a week off my guess of March 24.

Which leaves us with the $32,000 question:

When does it hit Aussie screens?

(I am sick of dial-up- no youtube, and I can only access video google at school... And don't get me started on torrents, or whatever the stupid things are called!) Evil or Very Mad

"Best indicator of future behaviour is past behaviour" - Dr.Phil

We got series 1 about 6-7 weeks after it started in the UK.
We got series 2 the week after it concluded in the UK.
(More or less, I didn't write the dates down).

I'd say/guess that we'll probably get the same deal as last year meaning it's unlikely to be on before series 3 completes in the UK. So, for legal reasons, probably the first week of July would be the earliest date. Just remeber that's a guess, as I have no idea what's going on at the ABC.

PS. They are called torrents or bit-torrent. Never to be mentioned.

Well, that's not counting TCI, which we got the day Doomsday aired - July 8th.

Which is most kind of you. Many Thanks.

Personally; I didn't think a week either way, in the big scheme of things, was that important in light of Noni's original question, but perhaps that's just me.

So there I go.

Anyway, I'm still suggesting the first week of July as the eariest probably date for seeing season 3, lead off by last years Christmas Special "TRB".

And I have to ask. Are the Christmas Specials considered part of the season they proceed, "canon" wise, or are they just considered independant "Specials"? Even though they are included in the following season DVD sets. Opinions?

They are canon, events of the Christmas invasion are mentioned a few times in series 2. e.g School Reunion where Sarah Jane talks about a big space ship over London on Christmas day. It's also mentioned in Torchwood.

I think you may have misunderstood me.

I'm not talking about the events in the episodes; I'm asking if "TCI" is considered part of season 2; or is it considered a seperate "special". The same with "TRB". Is it part of season 3 or a "special" seperate from it?

Now; you'll excuse me I have to get back to putting english subtitles on a couple of rare russian science fiction films I've been sent. Теперь; вы извините меня, котор я должен получить back to одевать в английские субтитры пара редких русских пленок научной фантастики я был послан.

Имейте хороший день.

Oh i see. Well from what i have read they are part of the first block of filming for each series, something like episode 0 of each series , so TCI is episode 0 of series 2 and TRB is episode 0 of series 3. At least thats what i understood it to be

My money is on the beginning of July, too.

I really am learning to hate this time of year. As soon as the new series starts in the UK suddenly, if I want to stay reasonably spoiler free, I have to start censoring myself on the Internet. It's so easy to accidentally wander onto the wrong forum/blog/site and ruin everything.

I predict it'll start here on June 23, coz that's when the UK gets the last episode, and that's what they did last year.

I am guessing that the series will debut here after the ABC shows the first 13 episode season of the new Robin Hood which begins next month, which would mean it will be in July.

Robin Hood thread here:
http://drwhoaustralia.org/board/viewtopic.php?t=361

A lot of people have expressed dislike for this Robin Hood. I however have enjoyed it from the episodes that I have seen so far.

Don't you have a teleport? I thought everyone had one these days.

Get up at 3am on Sunday morning, teleport to London, watch DW the day before, teleport home, go back to bed. Wake up, was I dreaming?

As an adventure series it's OK, if you're not to demanding.

To be honest "Monty Python & The Holy Grail" or "Maid Marion & Her Merry Men" are a more realistic depiction of life in the 12th Century, (MP&THG was in the 10th), then what you'll see in the new Robin Hood.

All that eye makeup and clean clothes. Seriously.
And the new Sherrif's portrayal is straight out of "Prince Of Theives".

Check the Robin Hood page at the BBC webiste if you want full details on the new series.

That's an interesting point, because I saw a documentary about life in that time, and it said that the kings weren't much more hygienic than the peasants. So this scene in The Holy Grail:

"Must be a king."
"Why?"
"He hasn't got shit all over him."

would be technically incorrect.
