One day I shall come back. Yes, I shall come back. Until then, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties. Just go forward in all your beliefs, and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine. Goodbye, Susan.

The Doctor, in "The Dalek Invasion of Earth"

Would be cool if the new Doctor went back to 22nd or 23rd century Earth in search of his Grand daughter Susan.

Susan could have regenerated, or they could use the original Susan some forty years after the Doctor dumped her on a world in ruins.

Maybe I'll run this by Russell. Smile

I'd have no problem with Susan coming back. I guess it all comes down to do we want another School Reunion?

Could she come back though? If the Time War erased Time Lords from existence completely, I gather that - barring the Doctor (who's more than a Time Lord, or something typically mysterious) - they no longer ever existed. Which means Susan never existed. And besides which, if the Daleks never existed from the Time War either, then again Susan couldn't be there... could she? Too confusing. I need a lie down.

I had a planned fan fiction story along those lines at one point - the history of the universe had been changed to such an extent that The Dalek Invasion of Earth could never had happened, and the Doctor set off to find her. It never got written due to 'creative differences' (as the euphemism goes). I shan't reveal too much, as I may someday cannibalise the idea and use it elsewhere, but the story's name would have been Schrodinger's Granddaughter...

I suppose the TimeLords picked up all the lords out of time for the war so the Doctor may have met up with her then. or maybe not.

If the Master has survived the Time War then there's no reason Susan couldn't have survived as well.

But that's assuming she fought in the Time War. And if she didn't, I doubt the Master would have too. The difference is the Dalek thing.

Actually Greg, I was thinking of doing a fanfic along those lines too! But I'm not going to either, because I couldn't be bothered. As usual.

"If" the Master survived. We'll see. Nothing is, of course, confirmed.

Who would be a good evil Timelord? Maybe they should do a Mel Gibson and select a "beautiful face" for the evil one.

Will we see a return of the Goatee?

All this depends on the Master having survived the Time War as you say. Smile

There is a chance that Hugh Grant will be a villain in the new series. I don't know if he's a Time Lord, but he is a beautiful face.

Plus he said he would never be in anything like Doctor Who, didn't he? Dunno if this is true, but I heard that he was approached and turned it down with a sneer.

Ah well, we don't need him anyway. After all, he's best left in his greatest role ever. No, not LOTR or Star Wars. The man with the golden gun.

I believe Mr Lee turned down doing a Big Finish audio. He's been willing to appear in genre TV before - both Space: 1999 and the revival of The Tomorrow People have been graced with his presence.

Lee will always be Dracula for me. He was in a Hammer House of Horror Vampyre film many years ago... I'm so old. Smile Time to regenerate.

I'm old enough to remember watching Mr Lee as Dracula at the cinema... in the first releases of his movies. I wonder whether the story about Dracula, Prince of Darkness is true? That Hammer were so hard-up for cash when they made this movie that they couldn't afford to pay Christopher Lee as much as he thought he deserved, so he didn't deliver the lines that were written for him, instead spending the movies hissing and snarling. (This movie also stars Aussie Bud Tingwell... who says far more than Lee.)
