Not as good as I'd hoped, and End of Days really only picked up right at the end with [SPOILER DELETED].

Did anyone else notice that Bilis Manger is an anagram of "I BRING MEALS" as well. The one thing that kept me interested in this story was looking for the references to other episodes.

Not as good as either of the Dr Who two-part series finales, but reasonable none the less.

I wasn't convinced by the 1941 reaction to either Toshi, or to when the Two Captains (now there's an idea for an episode title) danced. Too understanding by WWII Blitz sufferes by half.

What I did like about this episode was the explanation of who Captain Jack (the real one, not... the... other real one?) err, Torchwood's Captain Jack got his new identity from.

Which leaves open the question of just who he really is.

A fantastic episode with great performances by Jack and Tosh.

A few little leaps of logic plot wise but done with such style.

Captain Jack was brilliant, both of them.

My fav of the season 5/5

Great idea. Loved the interplay between Ianto and Owen, thought it was a lovely way to demonstrate the working relationship between the two and to see that working together doesnt always make people friends. Loved Billings. Just the right mix of creepiness and understated threat.

Pity we didnt get more answers to any of the jack questions that this season has created.

This episode was the second of the three episodes that I thought were executed brilliantly and I agree with Tegan, to an extent. While I thought the guests' reaction to Toshiko were not authentic, I believe their reactions to the dance (and subsequent kiss between the two Jacks) was. I think they were more in shock that men of the captains' statures would openly display their affections. But then Jack (from Torchwood) does that with anyone he is attracted to (male or female).

I knew "Bilis Manger" had to be an anagram for something (It was too odd not to) I couldn't work out what it was though.

Bilis Manger? You mean...

A big lens rim? (If it's a big lens, it's got a big rim!)

Bring a smile? (Maybe some of the following will...)

Resign a limb? (The Yakuza are getting tougher on defaulters!)

Grim lesbian? (Oh dear me!)

Grim Bela sin? (I suppose he might...)

Gin is marble? (That makes it hard to drink)

I sing marble? (Yes, it's rock music!)

I sling bream? (Throwing away fish)

I sling amber? (Throwing away semi-precious gems)

I'm Ben as girl? (The return of a transsexual companion?)

Big as Merlin? (Merlin is supposed to be a future incarnation of the Doctor)

Resin gimbal? (I hope ot's noit an important part, it might shatter!)

Ambling sire? (A king takes a casual walk?)

I brag I'm lens? (Not sure that's something to brag about...)

Bali sin germ? (Yes, well - we know what sort of holiday that was!)

Me ring Basil? (Manuel asking if he should phone his boss.)

Gremlin bias? (I'm sure gremlins think there is...)

Girl bias men? (May do.)

Gin sire lamb? (Sounds like the punch-line of a New Zealander joke...)

Ban semi-girl? (Could be seen as unfair discrimination.)

Slime gin bar? (I prefer my gin without the slime, thanks.)

Lame Brig sin? (Hinting at a Torchwood/UNIT crossover?)

I bring Selma? (Hinting at a Torchwwod/Simpsons crosasover?)

Earn big slim? (Hinting at a Torchwood/Biggest Loser crossover?)

IRS be malign? (Torchwood America has tax problems?)

Berlin Sigma? (Theta's German brother?)

I'm gas Berlin? (A trip back to WWI/WWII?)

Snail be grim? (Cousin to the slug-monster from The Twin Dilemma?)

I arm be sling? (Semi-literate hint of a broken limb?)

Brim is angel? (That's one holy hat!)

I be man's girl? (Gwen confesses her clandestine affair with Owen - again!)

Yes, you do have a point, Greg. We may just be reading too far into it. This may just a case where the being (real or otherwise) responsible for naming Mr. Manger decided to choose a unique name. Truth is stranger than fiction.

OK, I'll pay the Fawlty Towers (or is that flowery ....) anagram, but really the others are hardly "significant".

No, Bilis impressed me as a glorified butler, so I still like my anagram best.

Yes, the anangrams are a bit of fun. I expect none of them to reveal absolutely anything!

I loved this episode. John Barrowman was great in it, and I liked the way Owen and Ianto interacted. It was also good that everyone had a somewhat significant part. I was just a bit annoyed that we didn't learn much more about Jack, apart from the fact that Jack isn't his real name.

BTW I love your anagrams Greg!

Would Torchwood go into the revelations about Jack that are coming up Doctor Who? It probably wouldn't be necessary, but they could maybe go a bit more into how he ended up not being able to be killed, it was sort of glanced over if I remember correctly
