So are there people here who loves High School Musical. I certainly do and so does my niece which is why I bought the Encore Edition for her Christmas present. She has memorised the words of every song in the movie and I can't help but sing-along as well.
Perhaps unsurprisingly a sequel will soon be filmed:

I definitely look forward to seeing it. |

Well, you missed our school production of it- I was the science teacher... Ten lines people!
I've seen some of the shorts for the second- it looks even more slick and vomit-enducing (in that weirdly satisfying way...?) than the first...
BRING IT ON! |

Well it is a shame I didn't see the school production.
There is a feature of High School Musical 2 in the September edition of Optus Magazine with the main cast members revealing what their characters would be like in the movie.
As mentioned before it will be on Saturday September 22 and it has been scheduled at 6:30pm with a repeat the following day at 1pm. |

Finished seeing High School Musical 2:
The songs were quite good but to be honest I found the storyline to be barely on par with its predecessor. Still fun though. |

High School Musical 3: Senior Year:
The third High School Musical film.
Unlike the two previous films which were TV movies, the third movie gets a theatrical release.
Looking up at Wikipedia it is scheduled for release on October 24 in the US.
Read somewhere else that the film will gets its Australian release on November 26.
As the title says the film will focus on the kids as high school seniors. |

Found out from my local cinema the film's Australian release has been delayed to December 4.
In the cinema, I saw a trailer of the film before seeing Wall-E. The trailer was not bad. |

High School Musical 3: Senior Year:
Felt very different with this being a big screen movie. The songs are quite alright. It's gloomy in a lot of places as the reality of the end of high school for the kids comes near.
It is passable and enjoyed it most towards the end especially the shock that Sharpay got on-stage as it was very funny.
Another thing to mention is that there are outtakes shown during the end credits just in case people who have not seen it yet, decide to leave the cinema as soon as the closing credits comes up.
Ben McEachen in the Sydney Sunday Telegraph gave the film three stars. In the last sentence of his review he wrote: "Sure, it's highly superficial and artificial look at teens, but kids could be watching a lot worse than entertaining fantasy." |
