My favourite episodes where Human Nature/The Family of Blood, the story was brilliantly written, it had me on the edge of my chair the whole time. It was very sad, and kind of unnerving at the same time, showing the Doctor [even though it was wasn't technically him] in a life he could never have.

Blink comes in a close second. There's something about the nature of Moffat's stories that I just love, they're not scary, but.....creepy.

Blink did it for me. Great story in the great tradition of Dr Who - leaving the little ones just a tad scared but a well enough crafted story to keep the grown-ups entertained and intrigued.

Plus Carey Mulligan (who played Sally Sparrow) was very easy on the eye. Smile

That's scary. Word for word what I would have written.

I wish I had said that. Wink

Very tough. I would say Utopia, followed very closely by Blink and Human Nature/Family of Blood

Despite how good they were, I'm going to be picky and not choose 'The Family of Blood' or 'Blink' because, particularly with the former, they're reworkings of old stories. In that sense, then, I'm going to say 'Gridlock', the story of the year that proved Russell was really honing his scripts to perfection by now (okay, so 'Last of the Time Lords' wasn't perfect, but it's a damn sight better than 'Doomsday' or 'The Runaway Bride'), with a story that just works incredibly well in its own little niche of a world instead of needing other stories surrounding it to work. The best Russell script yet, and the one that makes me firmly believe that the fewer scripts he writes the more genius his contributions to the series actually are.
