My theory on the whole weddings thing is this:

The Master is the Doctor Son!

If I'm wrong, I have a 'didn't-get-to-see-all-of-the-original-episodes' handicap!

Leena Out!

Well, in the original TV series, the Doctor once commented upon the fact that he and the Master had attended school together. This by no means rules out your theory, but I feel that it does decrease its likelihood of it being correct.

And in the 5 Doctors, the First doesn't know the Master so it seems unlikely.

Now here's my crazy sentence;

Romana was the Doctor's wife

As for the episode, I also was unsatisfied with the excuse for going to the house. In the book she was visiting her auntie.

The time ball was lame but had they put something else in then it would have worked out paradoxical so that was their only option. I wouldn't be surprised if they spent a few hours trying to think of something good and that was their scapegoat solution.

I didn't get why we could see the Angels when the lights came on and the kids were in the TARDIS, they were looking at the side of the TARDIS so nothing would see them. And what if someone decides they dont want five huge statues in the parking lot and decides to move them? Still, it was done well and I enjoyed it.

Well, Lalla Ward (Romana) actually did marry Tom Baker (Dr #4), so you're not crazy at all .....

"And in the 5 Doctors, the First doesn't know the Master so it seems unlikely."

To which the Master promptly replied: "Believe it or not, we were at the academy together."

So it seems perfectly likely to me.

If you are going to quote an excerpt from a conversation to provide as evidence for a specific point, don't forget to take into account the rest of the conversation.

In any case, Time Lords may well be able to recognize each other, but the Master was no longer a pure Time Lord at the time. He was a hybrid of Gallifreyan and Traken origin. This may have affected matters. Also, the first Doctor was getting on and beginning to "wear a bit thin" at the time, so his abilities in that area may not have been as effective as they once were.

Mind you, if we take into account that Doctor is also not a pure Time Lord – Gallifreyan/Human hybrid – that might go some way towards explaining the situation as well. One hybrid attempting to recognize another hybrid…?
