Personally, I think PD a little too old to pull this off, but I'm looking forward to it nevertheless.

Well, none of them could. The only one who looks like he did when he was playing the Doctor is Eccleston!

However, it's for the fans, and for charity - and I'm sure also for Tennant, who will I'm sure be absolutely thrilled to be playing the role alongside one of his predecessors.

I'm just wondering how long (or short...) it is. It is another Steven Moffat story, after all!

And McGann.

As for the news... I'm still really quite surprised, but hey, I'm sure it'll work.

McGann is 10 years older, and won't wear the wig or (I believe) the costume. He looks far gaunter than he used, so without the props, I don't think I'd be convinced he wasn't an older version...

Mind you, I guess that is fair enough because we didn't see him regenerate, so maybe it could be explained away.

Peter Davison and Steven Moffatt sounds like a winning combo to me. PD and DT could even have a celebrity bowl-off; they've both proved to be nifty with a six-stitcher...

Fantastic! Now I'm really looking for a TARDIS trip to cut down the wait.

As for any of the classic Doctor's pulling this off, I really do think Colin Baker would be the least changed from his TV days.

He's just been grazing in a good paddock is all. Wink

I think McCoy's changed the least, myself.

A bit of Grecian 2000 in the hair and some bulldog clips at the back of the neck and he could pass as close to his classic days.

Or is that what they did in the TV movie? Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad

(I should talk).

Yeah - and if I remember rightly, they chopped off his hair and thrust him into a leather jacket in the books. Almost as if he was channelling Eccleston before Eccleston.

And Speckled Jim - surely Tom would still be the best bowler (we didn't see that on screen, but I remember reading somewhere that he was the most into cricket? Somewhat appropriate, considering Douglas Adams was originally going to chuck his Krikkit plotline in Doctor Who).

From Moffat himself Wink

"For the first time, the Doctor wears REAL CELERY.

Trouble with us fans: we think celery looks like thing that just used to be stuck on the Doctor. It doesn't really! Where's that Restoration Team? I want them to go back and put REAL CELERY into Peter's episodes.

He's magnificent, by the way, just magnificent. And yes there's a quick hand-wave explanation for the age thing - but really, when you see him in action, you almost don't need it. He's just the Doctor and you don't argue.

My two favourite Doctors head to head in a scene by me. Sometimes I think the universe is being run entirely for my entertainment.

Steven Moffat"

I'd forgotten about Moffat's liking of Davison, and he's not just sucking up here either: in the In Vision thing for Season 20 (I think), he goes on about how Davison and his era are the best of the show.

And, of course, 'The Girl in the Fireplace' is as whacky a bunch of two ideas (spaceship, France) as 'Time-Flight' (concorde, Prehistoric Earth).

If I remember correctly, the 4th Doctor rolled his arm over in the Hand Of Fear. He was bowling a rock in a quarry Smile

If only DNA was still with us; imagine the kind of amazing story he could come up with for the new Who ... the Krikkit story being but one. God, it's been 6 years and I'm still upset about his death.
