| So, the new Sontarans have ears which means, I guess, they won't be wearing their trademark helmets, which I think is a shame. I also prefer the look of the old Sontaran costumes, and wish they hadn't already done great Sontaran costumes when they did the Judoon. I don't like the new ones much, but I'm still looking forward to them returning. And I'm glad they're short - they were always supposed to be. |

| They were flat though, not sticking out the side of his head. I think... |

Oh dear me, this won't do at all. No. |
They do look much more organic now and less like dung in a space suit. |

| You won't get much more organic than dung, space suit or not. |

| True, but they look much more like they're living sentients in suits now. |

Yep, one reason Sontarens looked so ... silly... was the "organic" appearance of a pile of dung.
The new look is better, but a little on the "Mike" from The Young Ones side, when "Neil" height would be better. More imposing.
It's all a a matter of scale. It's no use sending an entire battle fleet to invade a planet if it gets swallowed by a dog when it gets there. |

Yes, they would be more imposing. However, as has already been pointed out, if a Sontaran were to be taller, the gravity on they're home planet would have to be significantly less.
On the other hand, the aforementioned statement is made under the assumption that the Sontaran skeletal structure is of the same or a similar composition as ours. If this was not the case then there is no telling what effect it would have on the physical state of a Sontaran.
Here ends the lecture in Sontaran biochemistry. |
