Heard about this webisode mini-series for some time but finally got to read up about it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Of_Gods_and_Men
"Star Trek: Of Gods and Men is a three-part unofficial Star Trek fan mini-series which has been announced for release in January, 2007, which contains many cast members from the original series and movies. It is described by its producers as a "40th Anniversary gift" from Star Trek actors to their fans. Principal photography began July 12, 2006 and finished in October 2006. It is not officially endorsed by the owners of Star Trek, but has been covered on their website startrek.com.

The series is directed by a team of Tim Russ and J. G. Hertzler. Russ, best known for playing Tuvok on Star Trek: Voyager, previously directed one episode of that series. Hertzler was a character actor who appeared in many roles across several Star Trek series, including as the recurring General Martok on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

The series is described as the "brain-child" of James Cawley, who created Star Trek: New Voyages, and was shot in New Voyages sets in New York, at Port Henry and New York. Scenes were also shot around the Los Angeles, California area, including at Vasquez Rocks, a popular site for Star Trek location footage. Scenes set at the Vulcan Science Academy were filmed in the San Fernando Valley.

According to the press release, the mini-series stars Nichelle Nichols as Uhura, Walter Koenig as Pavel Chekov, and Grace Lee Whitney as Janice Rand. It also features Alan Ruck reprising his role as Captain John Harriman from Star Trek: Generations and Garrett Wang reprising his role as Harry Kim from Voyager), . Other Star Trek actors to appear (though not necessarily in the roles that they originally played) include Chase Masterson Leeta from DS9), and Gary Graham (Ambassador Soval from Enterprise). The series was written by DS9 writers Jack Trevino and Ethan H. Calk. Douglas Knapp is the director of photography and previously worked on Voyager."

It looks really good.

Part 1 had been scheduled to debut around this time but it has been delayed.

However to compensate for the delay the official site at http://www.startrekofgodsandmen.com/ has a new video of the first three minutes of the episode and it was very well done.

Part 1:
This was quite enjoyable and certainly did not expect to see an old enemy to appear.

Part II:
Pieces are certainly falling into place with the revelation of how the alternative universe came about.

However I am not quite sure about Gary Graham's performance as I found it flat.

Good cliffhanger.

As reported from the Star Trek: Of Gods and Men Newsletter:
"Due to overwhelming demand, Star Trek: Of Gods and Men will be available on DVD."

The series which had been available to view on the Star Trek: Of Gods and Men website in three parts is re-edited as an 87 minute feature film for the DVD release.

Do not know if this will become available in Australia.
