The Royal Television Society has announced today the nominations for its General Awards, to be handed out at a gala ceremony next month.
Whovians will be most interested in these nods:
-David Tennant for Best Actor.
-Sarah Jane Adventures for Best Children's Drama
-Doctor Who for Best Drama
David probably has the best chance to win, as he is also nominated for his performance in the six-part series Recovery, which should boost his stocks with the snooty voters.
Doctor Who is up against Skins(E4) and The Street(BBC1), two gritty modern dramas that are more likely to win the award.
The Sarah Jane Adventures is nominated against Desperados (CBBC) and My Life as a Popat(CITV). I can't be sure which way this award will go.
For historically-minded fans, Doctor Who has received three RTS Awards during its lifetime:
1974: Bernard Lodge for 'Graphics'
2006: Best Drama and Dennis Potter Award for RTD.
