Jekyll is a six-part BBC One drama that was on in the UK not so long ago and it was written by Steven Moffat. It is a modern day adaptation of the Robert Louis Stevenson novel The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Well I read in the SMH Guide that the ABC has bought the show. Broadcast date as yet unknown.

It stars James Nesbitt, Gina Bellman, Michelle Ryan (currently the Bionic Woman and she had auditioned to be Billie Piper's successor on Doctor Who before Freema Agyeman was chosen), Denis Lawson who did some Doctor Who work by narrating the documentary A New Body At Last on the Logopolis DVD and Fenella Woolgar who will be in Doctor Who next year.

James Nesbitt is a guest in Parkinson this Saturday September 8 at 10:25pm on the ABC and he will be talking about Jekyll.

I have seen much of Episode 1 and it definitely looks interesting.

James Nesbitt guest hosted the Friday Night Project episode that was on UKTV hours ago.

Jekyll gets a brief mention at the beginning with a description of what the show was about as it looks like this Friday Night Project was aired before Jekyll's debut on the BBC.

Just before At the Movies hours ago saw an ad of Jekyll on the ABC saying that it is coming soon. Ad looked spooky.

It looks like it will replace Marple in that slot. The article says that it is a three part series meaning that the series which is actually six episodes will be shown in double episodes at that slot.

Episodes 1 and 2:
What a stunning start to the series as it contains lots of thrills and tensions.
Highlights of these two episodes include Hyde taunting Katherine, Jackman discovering Hyde has met the family and the lion's den.
After recently seeing her in Bionic Woman, it is good to see Michelle Ryan again so soon with her role in Jekyll and Gina Bellman sure plays a completely different type of character from Jane from Coupling (which of course was created by Steven Moffat).

Great first show. I was blown away.

I'm just a bit confused - why is it so hard to believe that Tom is related to Jekyll? We all know Hyde likes to sleep around a bit, so he could have had a child.

Episodes 3 and 4:
It was a Denis Lawson night because not only was he in these two episodes when but also in the Robin Hood episode For England... which was on shortly beforehand.
Horrified on seeing the bodybag thinking it was Claire but glad it wasn't her and so not disappointed on who it turned out to be.
The scene with that thug on the pier was very tense.
So not surprised that Claire had other ideas for that coffee and what a stunning last shot to end episode 4.

Episodes 5 and 6:
What a surprise on who plays Robert Louis Stevenson.
Oh my did not expect to hear the ringtone that was also heard in the Torchwood episode Combat.
Quite a shock on Claire's history but the biggest one comes at the very end.

Overall this has been a very brilliant series. Glad to have seen it.

Well, I was right about Tom being a descendant of Hyde. It was pretty obvious.

Great action-packed show. However, on behalf of my dad, I would like to ask if anyone knows what Tom's mother (or her alter ego) was doing as the boss of the organisation trying to track him down. Why was she interested in using Hyde for experiments and everything?

Okay, did anyone think that when Hyde made his big scary face it looked somewhat familiar? Say, like scary weeping angels in a certain Doctor Who episode written by the same writer of Jekyll?

Just watching this now. Brilliant writing once again by Moffatt. He is the best writier of our time IMO.

But I reckon James Nesbit would make a great replacement for David Tennant!!! A very different Doctor there!
