Oh yeah - this is the spoiler free part of the forum, so please don't post any plot details about these episodes. Titles are dangerous enough for some of our forum friends.

Updated - one more episode title added to Doctor Who, and another moved to its newly reported spot in the running order.

The Sontaran Stratagem? What are they gonna do, challenge the Earth in an intergalactic game of chess?
Not a great title, but it will be awesome to see the return of the perpetually asthmatic nuggets of muscle.

04 - The Sontaran Stratagem

Hmm. It seems, hopefully, going by that name, that the production team may indeed do something heavily involved with the Sontaran/Rutan conflict (assuming it's not just Sontarans invading Earth). My wish may have been granted; and now I might be interested!

Incidentally, I should sort of clarify what I mean about showing the war. I don't actually mean showing the conflict, or anything like that; I don't mean big-space battles (or, to be honest, I might have meant that when I first reacted to the news, but that was because I was an idiot. And still am, largely). I just mean... being involved in the conflict in some way.

I mean, Doctor Who has tended to be at its most fascinating when it's about war... and yet obviously due to budget it's largely unable to portray war (which is why the Sontaran/Time Lord conflict of 'The Invasion of Time' just feels lame). The reason why the War in Heaven* and the Time War work for me is because we've seen their effects in other ways, rather than seeing actual fighting of said wars. Gallifrey's past is often fascinating because you don't really see it.

So that's sort of how I'd like to see the Sontaran/Rutan conflict; it's heavily involved in the narrative progression of the story, but we don't technically see it happen.

*The War in Heaven is the mythology that Faction Paradox centres around.

By the way, Greg, do you have any information on who's writing each story (for both DW and TW?)

Ask and you shall receive - all the writers for series 4 of Who and series 2 of Torchwood are listed - as well as the episode titles for the rest of the series of Torchwood showing in the UK.

Hurrah! Thanks for that.

So are we to assume that the episode 10 slot - 'Midnight' - is a Doctor-less story? I wonder if Russell dares do one as controversial as 'Love & Monsters' this time around.

Wonder if anyone is planning to watch Midnight at midnight when the season eventually comes out on DVD.

I probably would.
