I was thinking Gwen was getting a bit of a short shrift this season, and that the first episode and the wedding episode were going to be the main focus on her. Then we got this one, in which Gwen is on screen more than anyone else (and Owen, who has had a lot of screen time, got about two lines of dialogue).

This is a slower episode than most if not all episodes this series, and focuses on Gwen's emotions and the impact of working for Torchwood is having on her as a person. As such, it required rather a lot more in the way of acting skills than the wedding episode (which my mind refuses to remember the title of...).

It also looks at what Cardiff being on the space/time rift means for people living in Cardiff, with the fairly simple corollary to all the things that get through the rift to Cardiff.

I think that last week's From Out of the Rain is still the best episode of this season, but this one is probably a close second.

Something Borrowed is the title of the wedding episode, Greg.

I found this episode very touching and somewhat intraspective. Yes, it was a slower episode but (unlike Day in the Death) this story seems to pull at the heart strings a little more.

Gwen and Jack were particularly good in this episode.

I wish I could change my vote.

Fantastic. I loved the slower pace and the story really was heart wrenching. It brought a tear to me eye.

A very sad but well executed story.
Having seen her as Daffyd's lesbian friend in Little Britain it is good to see Ruth Jones in a serious role especially how her character Ruth finally learnt what happened to her son, Jonah.
Also good of showing Gwen's feelings of what she has to go through with her job.
Jonah having spend a lot of time in the Rift even though not a lot of time had passed relatively in 'our' world was something that was done in the Buffyverse most notably that of Connor in Angel.
This episode presents very well the harsh realities of Torchwood, happy endings are never a guarantee.
