not bad at all, have to admit that I thought the setting and effects were better than the story that underpinned it all.
Donna and The Doctor work very well together, better than Martha and The Doctor already, well IMHO |

Wow. This really did seem like a classic who.
Great to see the doctor still not admitting to the great fire after all this time.
Loved the emotional choice between history and that family.
Why didn't the doctor and donna die in the volcanoe?
The translation rules have changed.
The scale was very impressive.
Seemed like the story was lacking all the boring clap trap moments that usually come with Who.
First time I've ever liked donna.
How good was it when the Doctor saved them? None of that stuffing up that usually comes with the new series. That bit was actuially cool.
I liked that the volccano ppl were used sparingly so we didnt get bored with them and the water pistol was both cool and lame.
I find it hard to believe humans could have psycic powers better than the doctor. |

Confidential Cutdown: the Italian Job:
Among the things that were left out from the full version was David saying that he talked with Billie and Freema and that neither of them were bitter of having to miss out on going to Rome for filming of the episode.
Also missing is Phil Cornwell (Stallholder) who came up with his own idea for a spin-off. He said forget Torchwood let's have a spin-off about the stallholder! |

Wow, pretty much agree with eveyrone that it was a great episode! I am also a fan of the doctor's big speeches about how he sees the universe, also how they named his planet...cos no one ever knows...very exciting indeed!
I love donna, I think she is funny (although not so much in this one) but she was hilarious in partners in crime with her hat box....
And David of course never lets me down! |

| The Tenth Doctor visited Mount Vesuvius in The Fires of Pompeii however it is not the first for David Tennant in terms of the characters he has played in the past. He had visited the place before when he played the title character of Casanova in 2005. |

| Much better than the first episode but it wasn't until the last fifteen minutes or so that the story really impacted on me. Not bad, but not the best. |
