TV Tonight reports that Fringe will start on 9 on Wednesday September 17 8:30pm.

Saw a promo of it this week. Didn't reveal anything at all.

The first episode of Fringe includes a method of accessing the memory of a badly damaged person.

A similar method for a similar situation was used in Gallifrey Chapter Six: Spirit from Big Finish.

This Fringe character is similar to Torchwood's Suzie Costello as they are both team members who have gone bad.

Both are played by actors who are credited as regulars in the first episode of their respective series even though both characters are killed off by the end of it.

Fringe also has a device to talk to the dead within a period of time which is not unlike that of the Resurrection Glove in Torchwood.

Pilot:
Quite a scary beginning.
Overall it was very good although there were some parts that felt very slow.
Very surprising revelation about Agent Scott.

I quite liked it. I especially liked the father - what else has the actor playing him been in?

The father is played by John Noble. Among his other roles include guest stints in Stargate SG-1, 24 & The Unit.

His movie roles include Denethor in the Lord of the Rings movies.

Why did they cut the airplane scene for the "encore" showing on Sunday night? Too scary?

It's more than a little bit X-Files, which is no bad thing as it has been a while since we've had this type of show (mostly we have people outside the law investigating strange things...), so we'll see how this develops.

The second episode of Fringe, The Same Old Story briefly featured a hand in a jar. Of course a hand (belonging to the Doctor) in a jar was also in Torchwood.

Okay ... the similarities between Fringe and Torchwood are getting quite freaky now!

See three episodes. While some distance from ground-breaking, it is certainly entertaining enough. However, I'm thoroughly bored with the whole 'this is quite mysterious and only one company could have produced an essential component - Massive Dynamic!' Not required in every episode, guys!

I'm also mildly haunted by actors who have made an impression in other series I watch - Lance Reddick (who plays Phillip Broyles, the head the Homelnd Security agency) I know from his appearances in Oz and The Wire, and Kirk Acedevo (who plays Charlie Fdancis of the FBI) I also know from Oz.

And just to link back to Doctor Who... Lance Reddick co-starred with Aiden Gillan in The Wire, and Gillan previous appeared in Queer as Folk, the breakaway hit UK program that established Russell T Davies' as a force to be reckoned with in English television...

No idea.

The Ghost Network:
Season 1, Episode 3.
A good but not a great episode.
Horrifying for anyone to have metal in their body.

In this week's episode of Fringe, The Arrival, Peter and the Observer were talking at the same time and the Observer said something that Peter would have said. As people who have seen it have noted it is similar to what happened in Midnight.

Earlier I said that Fringe had a character (Scott) who was like Suzie Costello. Well Scott came back to life in The Arrival just like Suzie did in They Keep Killing Suzie.

Only nowhere near as good! (Story or acting-wise.)

Continues to be okay, and at least episode 4 wasn't stuck in the the rut the previous episodes have been digging - 'Walter was working on this umpteen years ago...', 'Something this advanced, Massive Dynamic must be involved...'. Hopefully the Massive Dynamic stuff will now only be in some episodes.

... Do you hear that? That's the sound of Russell T Davies suing JJ Abrams...

Power Hungry:
Season 1, Episode 5.
Very good episode in what the title refers to.
It is probably just me but Anna Torv looks more beautiful in this episode than in the previous ones.

Fringe will not be on its regular slot next Wednesday as Nine has pulled from its schedule:

"UPDATE: A spokesperson for Nine said Fringe’s fastracking was complicated by the US election but could not confirm a new timeslot for the series yet."
