The TV movie finally has a name - Exile.

Trailer:
http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2008/07/24-exile-trailer.html

This week I saw a Robot Chicken episode which included a Star Wars sketch when a phone rang and the ringtone is undoubtedly that of the ringtone heard on 24!

Lately I realised something - 2008 is 24's gap year as 2009 will be for Doctor Who.

No full season of 24 was shown this year due to the writer's strike in the US but to compensate for this there will be the aforementioned TV movie later in the year (coincidentally on Doctor Who's anniversary date November 23 in the US) just as there will be three Doctor Who specials in 2009 in the absence of a full season.

However there is a difference on how both shows got their gap years. Doctor Who's was planned while 24's was unintentional due to the aforementioned strike.

Apparently the movie has had a change of name from Exile to Redemption:

Before Barack Obama claimed victory, political commentator Bruce Wolpe in the coverage of the US presidential elections on the ABC said that America already had a black President and his name was David Palmer in 24!

Redemption has been scheduled an hour earlier than previously reported as it would now be shown at 8:30pm tomorrow December 5.

Redemption:
Terrifying when I saw in the credits that one of the co-Executive Producers is Brannon Braga.
Not a very good look for Gil Bellows.
The last time we saw Noah Daniels he was Acting President when Wayne Palmer when into a coma. Here he is the proper President about to and subsequently left office after losing the election to Allison Taylor. Is Wayne Palmer still alive?
Noticed appearing here is Sebestian Roche who was a regular in the short-lived Odyssey 5 created by 24 Executive Producer Manny Coto. Roche was not the only Odyssey 5 regular to turn up on 24 as Peter Weller was in Day 5.
Somehow not surprised in the way that Jack eventually yielded to the subpoena.

Overall Redemption is not bad, at least the long 24 drought has finally been broken.
