Torchwood season 2 has finally been scheduled and as expected it will be on 10 HD.

TV Tonight has reported that season 2 will begin on 10 HD on Monday September 1 10:30pm.

Thanks for the news!

1 September - that's one day after I receive the Series 2 DVDs for my 18th birthday. I beat them by one day!

But it's not a complete waste - I don't have HD, so it was a lot cheaper to buy the DVDs (especially from Amazon.co.uk).

You are welcome.

The start of season 2 on 10HD will be a little later than previously reported. It will still be on September 1 but at 11:35pm instead 10:30pm. Found this out in a TV Tonight article about Burn Notice:

Despite the fact that not everyone will be able to watch Torchwood series 2 locally, this is a free-to-air broadcast and I'll be adding the episodes to the Scanner Screen section on a week-by-week basis, probably the Thursday or Friday before broadcast.

The Stolen Earth from the parent show Doctor Who last night on ABC1 was a three-way crossover with main characters from Torchwood & Sarah Jane Adventures turning up. With the former it takes place after the end of Torchwood season 2 with Gwen noting the fact of Owen and Tosh's absence. The Australian screening of Torchwood season 2 could have been in sync (although not for non-HD viewers) with this year's season of Doctor Who had 10 HD began showing much earlier than this month.

So far only the the first three episodes of Torchwood season 2 have been aired on 10 HD and to add insult to injury it is not on tonight September 22 nor next week September 29 due to the coverage of the Emmys and the Brownlow Medal respectively and will be back on from October 6. I would think that people at 10 would have had advance notice of which day of the week they were going to show those two events when they slotted in Torchwood on Monday nights.

On a slightly happier note, Torchwood season 2 is so vastly superior to the moving train wreck of season 1 that it just isn't funny

Torchwood, where are you? I've been scanning the TV guide - and the one on the Channel Ten website - and Torchwood is nowhere to be found. Could it be that they've axed a show from a midnight timeslot? What's the bloody point of that?

The fate of season 3 looks pretty dismal now. Looks like it'll be back to Amazon for me...

I actually bought the series two boxset at a Big W today, so I think it'll be easy to find if you go down that route.

And the good news is that season 2 is actually worth spending money on.

Season 2 resumes on October 6 with episode 4 Meat.

It's also $17 more expensive than if you buy it on Amazon...
