There is going to be a new movie of Sherlock Holmes to be directed by Guy Ritchie.

The movie to be released by Warner Bros. is aiming for a 2010 release:

There is another Sherlock Holmes project separate from the Guy Ritchie one.

This new one is Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell being set to play Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson in a new comedy.

Jude Law is Dr Watson in the Guy Ritchie film:

Also cast are Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler, Mark Strong as villain Blackwood, and Kelly Reilly as Watson's love interest Mary.

It is due for release in October 2009.
