to elaborate on the word 'terrible' i will say that basically this story summarised the entire series.

Series 3 was brillant, fantastic, clever, witty,
Series 1 was pretty good
Series 2 was mediocre
Series 4 was the biggest load of turd I've ever seen on TV. With the exception of 'Midnight', it was on par with Power Rangers.

I love the fact we're calling the human doctor "10.5".

On some other forums, they're calling him the doctor sex toy... which I think is more appropriate.

Actually, I think I figured out what really irked me with that 10.5 and Rose kissing scene. It was the fact that the other Timelord Doctor was looking on. Now that was just kinda weird. Perhaps they could have saved the beach kissy scene with 10.5 until the Tardis took off with the Timelord Doctor leaving 10.5 to have his quiet word in Rose's ear. Then at least the scene may have been mildly more romantic or at least tolerable. It did feel like he was leaving her a "sex toy" version of himself with the way in which it was done Confused

Oh yes! I have heard about that! Apparently it is quite long, but people speculate that it was cut as not all Doctor Who fans were overly wrapped in the romance side of it. But it is obviously a hit on Youtube Laughing

But in the end result, I just found it weird that his other self was looking on. That just really put me off the Rose and Doctor romance thing completely then. I don't think that it was very well done. When he (Eccleston's Doctor) kissed her in the finale of series 1 it was okay, as the context was different etc, but after that, it should have been left well alone.

I totally agree with montypython, the Doctor kissing Rose wasn't our pure Time Lord alien Doctor. The kissing Doctor half human and it was the human side of him that wanted to show his emotions to Rose.

I think this is great because it show's that our Doctor, the real Doctor is an alien and doesn't posses the emotions like us humans do. It proved that he and Rose could of never had a "conventional" relationship matter how close they were.

Just found out that there's a deleted scene. It shows the Doctor giving 10.5 a piece of the TARDIS, so that he can grow his own and he and Rose can still travel in it.

I'm not sure that I like this ending. While it's a lot happier, I think I actually prefer the tragedy that Rose and the Doctor get to be together, but don't get to see the universe. Besides, TARDIS travels would mean they're still not totally safe - they could still get captured/killed/abandoned - which sort of defeats the purpose of leaving them together in the first place.

At the risk of sounding like a grump, I couldn't give a tinker's cuss about the whole Doctor loves Rose loves Doctor II, will they/won't they, is it true love, can they ever be happy together/apart/occasionally bumping into one another tosh. Can we get back to having some sci-fi adventure please?

Someone gave me an article about Billie in Doctor Who from the Melbourne Herald Sun dated September 3 2008.

In the article it says that she "left the show in late 2006 [in Doomsday] and a return does not seem on the cards."

By this time, ABC1 had already shown Rose's cameo episodes in Partners In Crime & The Poison Sky. It was before the ABC1 broadcast of her appearances in the last four episodes of the 2008 season.

So one could easily think that the writer of the article did not know, did not noticed or had forgotten about her cameos in the two aforementioned episodes.

However things are confusing later on in the article as the writer wrote, "Rose was last seen heading off into the sunset with a clone of the timelord (sic)" and that description is not from Doomsday. It came from Journey's End which would not be on ABC1 until September 28 some three and a half weeks after the article was published. A confusion between Doomsday & Journey's End and a big spoiler for whoever read it at the time.

I was pleased by the lack of a 'What. What? WHAT!' at the end of this episode, however The Writer's Tale tells us that one was written - and that Davies was talked out of using it.

1. Shockingly bad. Not just bad Who, but bad television.

Thank God RTD is moving on, frankly. Even as a fan of over 20 years standing, I don't think I could tolerate much more of this tripe.
