Since the AFL thread seems to be reasonably popular, I'm taking a punt on there being other sports fans out there who are hopefully getting behind the new A-League. Vote for the team you support and let's talk about the World Game establishing itself as a force right here in the sporting centre of the world - Australia.

As a soccer-fanatic, I love it more than anything (Dr Who included), the A-League doesn't grab me so far... I'll certainly get to a game or two, they're pretty reasonable price-wise... but the A-League just isn't a patch on most foreign leagues... they've got the skills and inventive play, but they just play so dirty... but in a country that likes rugby/afl/et. al maybe that's a plus point... I'll hold off on my vote

You have to get to a game mate. Sure the skill level isn't up to international standards yet, but give it time and it'll happen. The atmosphere has been great so far. Was fantastic against Melbourne and almost as good against the Mariners. The Mariners crowd was great considering it was raining and the Swans were on the tele.

Buy a GA ticket for the next Sydney FC home game (Oct 9) and meet up with me before the match and join us in the Cove. It's the only place to be Smile

I'm not a big fan of Australian soccer (nothing beats UK soccer), but I'm going for the Melbourne Victory, even if they haven't lived up to their name yet.
