As to Part 4: Just a guess on why Philip Latham played Borusa and not Leonard Sachs who had played the character seen as the character in the season 20 opener Arc of Infinity just ten months before the airing of The Five Doctors. First of all it had been stated that Borusa underwent another regeneration which would indicate that with another regeneration gone he would be really eager to have Immortality. Another thing is that Latham looks more menacing as the character in contrast to the dullness that was shown when Sachs played the part.
We see Tom and Lalla again from the Shada footage when Romana calls the Doctor into the TARDIS and when he gets in his scarf is stuck hanging outside on the door just as the TARDIS dematerialises. This part was replaced in the Special Edition of the story where the Fourth Doctor and Romana were simply placed back in their canoe on the river.

well you see the simple reason is....

LOOK OUT ARDVARK!!!!

(runs away)

But seriously that is an interesting question, kinda like how come the klingons from Enterprise look like the ones from the later series rather than the ones from the Original Series that it is a prequal too.

I guess you can put it down to the period's love of continunity, yet at the same time a complete mishandling of it! Very Happy

So they offered the Master a new life-cycle with a fresh set of 12 Regeneratios. Couldn't Borusa just have done that to himself, rather than setting up this elabotrate game?

And what happened to The Master after The Brigadeir knocked him down, don't recall seeing him again.

I don't know about placing Sarah-Jane with the 3rd Doctor, the main companion for the 3rd Doctor was Jo. I would have liked to have see Jo back!

Borusa was plainly afraid of how dangerous Jo would be to his plans.

could it be that the High Council were (gasp!) lying to the Master? Shocked

Rassilon sends the Master back to his rightful place in the "Special Edition" cut of the Five Doctors - not sure if that scene was in the original cut.

here's hoping for a new "Special Big Finish Edition" of T5D featuring Don Warrington as Rassilon...

According to "Doctor Who - The Eighties"
Initially (when Tom Baker was still going to be in it) - the intention was to team
Susan with the 1st doctor,
Victoria with the 2nd,
Jo with the 3rd,
Sarah with the 4th and
Tegan & Turlough with the 5th,
but it turned out Katy Manning and Deborah Watling were unavailable to the Brigadier was brought in

it was at a very late stage that the cameo appearances by Liz, Mike, Jamie and Zoe were confirmed.

(It was probably an even later stage that they chose to dress Wendy Padbury in bubble wrap... Wink )

I must admit I was disapointed by this. It was nice to see four of the five Dcotros (even if it wasn't Hartnell) and the compainions together again. I thought Dalkes were supposed to be in this though? Confused

I have the original copy which I recored off the TV when I was a kiddo(in 1983) and an audio tape which I recorded off the TV too. The Dalek scene was definetly included. The laser bolts from the Dalek was changed to for the special and DVD release.

hugs

For the last part we did get 5 people credited as playing The Doctor, so we got there in the end.

Now i wonder what Sarah and Teagan were talking about.

Is this the last we see/saw of the Brigader, did he do any other stories with later Docs, can't recall him being in any of Doc #6 ...didn't see all of them.
There was a story before (the order could have been changed) this one where he's in two different time zones, one with doc #5, another with tegan & co, can't recall the name of the episode?

I don't think Doctor Who would have been the same without the Brigider, a great charactor to the show!

Battlefield was the Brig's last appearance on TV, but he has reappeared in the Big Finish audios. I think he was in The Spectre of Lanyon Moor and Nicholas Courtney appeared in Zagreus, but not as Lethbridge-Stewart.

for Big Finish, Nicholas Courtney has reprised his role as Lethbridge-Stewart in:
- Minuet In Hell
- The Spectre Of Lanyon Moor
- Sympathy For The Devil
- UNIT: The Coup
- UNIT: The Wasting
- UNIT: Time Heals

he also appeared in Zagreus and the Benny Summerfield audio Oh No It Isn't!

and for the BBC he was in Death Comes To Time.

he has recently had an autobiography published (his second):

So the ABC removed this for copyright reasons? Will we ever seen any more of the classic Dalek eps?

I think despite the plot holes and Baker not being in it, I agree that it is still great to see Troughton and Pertwee, as well as some of the other companions. But thank God that wont do "the 9 Doctors".
