Which was your favourite in Tom Baker's farewell season?

(I've excluded K9 and Company - but you'll get your chance on that one in a 'Favourite special story' poll later!)

There are a number of good stories in this season, but I've chosen The Keeper of Traken because I like the lovely mixture of mediaeval and modern in a courty estate-type setting.

Other contenders were Full Circle and Warriors' Gate, both for very different reasons!

Keeper of Traken. Also liked Logopolis but that was Tom's last.

The Keeper of Traken for the introduction of Nyssa and the re-introduction of the Master. I think this is Anthony Ainleys best work as Tremas.

Keeper of Traken - why?

1. Return of the Master
2. Concept of bio-electronics
3. The sets/costumes
4. The political concept of the Traken Union
5. Nyssa

It's Warriors' Gate for me. Four episodes of pure, unadulterated "what the...?" Highlights include the slow-motion coin, Biroc breaking into the TARDIS, and it's also Romana's last one. Crying or Very sad

I'm going with Logopolis. I like stories that focus on the TARDIS crew which this one does, possibly more than any other from Tom Baker's era.

Bloody fine season this one, but The Keeper of Traken is head and shoulders over the rest - all of which are good.

Yes. Finally a Tom Baker Season that is difficult to choose a fav, because they are all so good. So much for the JNT baggers.

I choose State of Decay for the very scary themes and I thought it was directed really well.

At the risk of sounding immature, I like State of Decay for its almost erotic sub-text (would you call me sick if I said Camilla and Romana are a good match...?) but I have to vote for Full Circle. The mud monsters actually look alright (although they look worse in sunlight) and the story in particular just twists and turns wonderfully throughout. The spiders are terrible, but whenever I remember this story the spiders are one of the last things I remember so that must say something about Full Circle's overall quality. Yes, Adric is introduced here, but at the time of watching I had no idea what I was in for and consequently didn't care. Full Circle is awesome.

PS. Am I the only one who thinks that the Leisure Hive is a bit crap? Everyone seems to love it but...

I haven't seen those for a long time.

I think I seem to recall that I liked Full Circle, though.

No I enjoy The Leisure Hive. This season could well be the very best of the JNT era.

I thought it was good the first time round but not so when I saw it again on DVD. The bland commentary certainly didn't help.

The most common misperception about The Leisure Hive was that it was JNT's debut on the programme. No it wasn't. It was his debut as Producer. he had been working with the production team for years when he got the Producer's job including his previous capacity as Production Unit Manager.

I went for Logopolis because the computations creating matter befuddled me which really got me into the story. I also really like the lead Logopolitian. He might have been a good Doctor.

The Warriors Gate was really intriging too. I would put it as second
