| The ABC will be showing the movie Silver Dream Racer at 2:35am on 21 September. This movie should be of interest to SG-1 fans as it has in a main role Beau Bridges. I also posted this in Relative Dimension section as it also featured an appearance by Lis Sladen. |

Anna Lousie-Plowman (Osiris) who had appeared in the Doctor Who episode Dalek mentions SG-1 in her interview in Doctor Who Magazine issue 357 and this is what she said:
"I did a sci-fi show in America, Stargate SG-1 [Anna-Louise played Osiris] and on the first episode I
did, Michael Shanks said to me, 'Look, the way to do it is not to play over-the-top. That doesn't work."
When asked "How did working on Stargate compare to working on Doctor Who?", she replied:
"Working in Britain is different: I think the scripts and the directors are far more actor-friendly. Most of the directors over there are more technical, they don't know how to give actors notes. You just do what
you do and hope for the best. Here's it much more actor-friendly."
She then adds:
"The scripts are so funny as well - there's a great sense of irony and humour, which you do get on Stargate, but it's a different sense of humour, and I prefer the English sense of humour." |

Both Stargate shows have been formally renewed for another season: http://www.gateworld.net/news/2005/10/istargatesg-1iandiatlantis.shtml
With SG-1 being renewed for a tenth season it will become the longest sci fi series in US television and the second longest in the world after the original Doctor Who. |

Claudia Black signs on for season 10:
"Claudia Black joins SG-1 cast
MONDAY - NOVEMBER 21, 2005
Claudia Black has sauntered her way into the hearts of many Stargate fans this year, playing the sexy thief Vala Mal Doran in eight episodes of SG-1's ninth season. Now Black is set to join the long-running series as a full-time cast member.
Black will join Ben Browder ("Cameron Mitchell"), Amanda Tapping ("Samantha Carter"), Christopher Judge ("Teal'c"), Michael Shanks ("Daniel Jackson"), and Beau Bridges ("Hank Landry") for the successful series' tenth season, premiering next summer on The SCI FI Channel.
The 33-year-old, Sydney-born actress is best known to sci-fi fans as Officer Aeryn Sun on SCI FI's late, lamented series Farscape. She has also appeared in such films and TV series as "Pitch Black," "Queen of the Damned," Hercules, and more. She made her first Stargate appearance in Season Eight, hijacking the Earth ship Prometheus and attempting to sell it to a pair of fellow thieves in "Prometheus Unbound."
Black appeared in the first six episodes of Season Nine, pinch-hitting for co-star Amanda Tapping during her maternity leave. Vala will return for the final two episodes of the season this March."

On the weekend watched the Mutant X episode The Taking of Crows which featured Jessica Steen and David Hewlett (Dr McKay) as a couple. What's funny about them being together in this Mutant X episode is that the both of them would have worked together on Atlantis had Ms Steen decided to play Elizabeth Weir again on the series.
I also saw the Star! Inside program shown on the Biography Channel about SG-1 which was made in 2002 around the time season 6 was on. |

This morning I saw Gary Jones in The L Word episode Loneliest Number on 7. Checked up on TV.com which says:
"Gary Jones of Stargate SG-1 is the fourth SciFi Friday regular to appear on The L Word. The previous three were Tahmoh Penikett (in episode 1-6: Losing It), Aaron Douglas (in episode 1-8: Listen Up) and Michael Hogan (recurring as Dana's father Irwin Fairbanks), all of Battlestar Galactica (2003). All three shows are filmed in Vancouver, Canada.
Additionally, Barclay Hope, who plays Bette's lawyer Bert Gruber, has had a minor recurring role on Stargate SG-1." |

Wow ...
I absolutely love SG1, I'm actually collecting the DVDs through the mail. I have seen atlantis, but lost interest. Must find a way to get back into that again, and have never heard of... that other one mentioned.
I thought I recognised that chick from "Dalek" from somewhere, but I just couldnt put my finger on it: Sknaht!
but... what was i gonna write?... oh yes,
has anyone else noticed similartities with Stargate and DW? I have said about it in other threads, but now that I've found this, I can ask some other Gaters.
For a start: well, the enemy within. this is the first ep after the pilot of SG1 and the working title for the DW movie.
another one, have you seen the outside of the place... in a tom baker ep. it was like some holiday planet or summat and there were those bug things... anywho, I found this pic on a book cover pictured in the book "Timeframes" and it looked exactly like Atlantis. honest to all!
has anyone else noticed anything like this? |
