Firstly - let me just say I agree with absolutely everything else everyone has said about this lame story - except that.

Yes, the suits look like Luke Skywalker's jump suit (and does anyone else think their spaceship looks like a Klyngon battle cruiser?), but as for the banners they wear, well, the Samari of Japan wore those in battle - so they are not that dorky, as great warriors of earth use to wear them.

I apologise for the spelling, please don't pick on me.

yes well...that didn't get any better did it?
The american secret agents are totally superfillious to the plot I hate it when that happens!
I assumed that the green body suit the baby was wearing was meant to be it's green skin and that it was naked, but it appears by stories end that it is infact meant to be clothing....cool that species is born with it's own wardrobe, and when a human converts into one they also gain their own wardrobe! Very Happy

Also did anyone find it a little, odd, that regular Chimmerons are Lizardy type people, but their royalty look very much human? Talk about class division!

The banners would look great on horseback but strike me as very difficult for sitting on a chair.

I think in an appropriate context they would be great, very threatening and imposing to see hundreds of them sweeping across the fuedal plains, but as a choice for an alien species with big ships that do the same thing they seem superfluous and OTT. Wink

What's not to like with Delta and the Bananamen?

Ken Dodd's appearance in episode one is a laugh. He'd been doing that kind schtick for years. His 'death slide' along the wall never fails to convulse me.

And like 'Delaws' Grey would be for Silver Nemesis, Stubby Kaye was in the UK appearing in Sugar Babies when he was asked to do Bananamen. His part may have seemed superfluous, but he adds something to this chirpy little story.

Did you notice that Billy never started her bike herself? Go back and see how many times Sylvester starts it for her. It's hilarious. Smile

Delta and the Bannermen...hmm, I honestly don't know what to make of it. Just when I was starting to enjoy the wacky 50s vibe, something would come along and spoil everything (cringeworthy music, cardboard performances from Billy and Delta. Honestly, a Cyberman could show more emotion than those two).

I didn't dislike it, but neither could I particularly enjoy it. Strange.

[EDIT] Did anyone else think Goronwy looked exactly like Tom Baker does now?

I found it extremely quirky - but somewhat enjoyable. A nice soundtrack too - considering the era it was made in...
