Just found out that Mark Gatiss' New Adventures novel Nightshade is now available as an ebook:

it was a pretty good book at any thing for free

First of all I recently realised that this should have into the E-Space section not in this one.

Anyway definitely a good read. I actually first read it years ago as it is in my uni library. Having read it again this time as an ebook quite surprise how some of the story's elements would later be used for Mark Gatiss' TV episodes The Unquiet Dead & The Idiot's Lantern.

Yeah, plus there's gas mask men, as Gatiss himself points out. The Empty Child...? This book was rather excellent, though I admit I haven't read many of the NAs at all so I'm not entirely sure if it's a classic of the range or the norm. Boy, I hope it's the latter...

Interestingly, it's amazing just how readable the book is in pdf format. Why the hell don't the others have this function?! You can get pdfs for free now, come on BBC! It's a shame, because it makes reading novels like Lungbarrow and The Dying Days a chore, no matter how good they actually are.

At least I can take solace in the hope they'll continue doing pdfs for further releases.

(One question though - why is it that the BBC are e-publishing Virgin books instead of their own range? Is it because they're older? I would have thought it'd be cheaper, after all they own the books really)
