Why are polls closed off prior to the free to air showing of DW episodes?

Don't know. They were set up to be polls that don't close (you can set a close date for polls but if you don't, they are supposed to be always open...)

If you've voted, the poll just shows the vote tally.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks for the info. It would be good if we could actually vote, as I, for one, prefer the wait for easch season of DW to start - and I might want to vote on an episode as it actually airs in Australia!

Hi Fiona,

I hadn't voted in the poll for The Sontaran Strategy, and could after you found you couldn't. So, that means (because the forum is set so that any registered user can post and vote) you should be able to vote in any open polls, and the polls in this section are set so that they don't close.

I've looked at your details for the forum, and you look to be set up correctly, so I can't see why why the system wouldn't recognise you as a regular user and allow you to vote. (People who aren't registered users can't post or vote.)

The only thing that may be the case is whether you log in to use the forum or, as can happen, you aren't logged in and reply and the system lets you identify your user ID and password for the one post - and hence doesn't recognise you as a registered user for the polls.

Can you let me know whether you log in for the whole session at the forum (you may be set us so the system logs you in automatically when you visit), or whether it asks you for your user ID and password each time you post a reply?

Feel free to post a reply here or answer by email or PM.

I'm asked each time I log in to the site for my login details. I have tried a couple of times to check the "log me in automatically" square (or whatever it's entitled, you know which one I mean) and it makes do difference.

I've just tried to vote and, lo and behold, I now CAN! What can have happened, I ask?

Still, I shouldn't complain now things are settled, huh.
