What do people make of this (Season 20) 1983 story written by Christopher Bailey?

This is the analysis from the official BBC website (WARNING! SPOILERS): http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/classic/episodeguide/snakedance/analysis.shtml

I gave this story an excellent. I like the idea of a sequel and the Mara in general. Tegan and Nyssa seem to have a bit more to do now that Adric is'nt around and I'm a big fan of Martin Clunes Very Happy

Episode One was good - particularly Tegan's "man voice" - it just makes me laugh!

I'm finding all the 5th Doctor's stories to be really good, even moreso after Adric died(yes, I'm cruel!) I've really taken a liking to Tegan and Nyssa, in my humble opinion, two of the best companions on the show so far!

Gee I think I have under estimated the level of animosity amongst fans in relation to Adric. Poor Adric! Doesnt anyone respect the fact he had a star for mathematical excellence?? Wink

By the way, I am enjoying Snakedance. Very Happy

Part 4 - Quite funny when the Doctor helps Nyssa down that she said that it wasn't necessary.
Didn't realise that Tegan's appearance is limited towards the end.
The snake here is much more convincing here than it was in Kinda.

Writer Christopher Bailey if I read it right in DWM actually prefers Snakedance over Kinda simply because he didn't quite like the way Kinda was handled on-screen. In fact I prefer Snakedance over Kinda.

Snakedance was actually recorded before Arc of Infinity and it is a pity that Snakedance did not open the 20th season instead.

The clothes in Snakedance were very "New Romantics"! I almost expected Duran Duran to make a cameo! Smile

I hadn't seen this one before, not too bad I suppose ...didn't get to see alot of the 5th doctors work in the past. Can't remember which story is next and I think the girls go out of it soon and the bloke with the red hair join ...isn't the Doc due for another regeneration? ...wasn't a big fan of the 6th Doc (didn't see much if him either) but the chick chick who plays Perry is hot and worth the viewing Smile

Have never seen the 7th Doc ...was he on aussie tv, will the ABC play his stories ...it's getting close to Xmas and this could be the last we see of the the reruns? Only saw Doc #9 in the who movie ...we all know Doc #9 and #10 is coming next year.

What will happen after #13 ...will Dr Who die or will the Timelords grant him another generation of 13 lifes?

Who knows...
