MIdnight is the worst, most terrible, awful, rubbish story there has ever been. IT WAS TOO SLOW.

Too slow? That's weird, as everyone in my household agreed that - while not a lot happened - the time just seemed to fly by.

I can't believe how much David Troughton looks like his old man!

No what I mean, is that the time did seem a bit faster. But that was (I think) because it was all in one room.

But its slow because all that really happens is someone starts repeating everyone. And don't forget the hysteria.

But I'll admit that until the monster breaks in, it's great fun

A great story though the repeating thing got a bit boring after a while.
Best ever RTD script.

Even though they are not related director Alice Troughton said in the DVD commentary that David Troughton looks like her grandfather!

In the commentary it was mentioned but not actually stated in the episode itself that Sky was on Crusader 50 on her way to kill herself since she had gotten a painful divorce and she had said she was on a schedule when the vehicle stopped.

Biff Cane was played by Daniel Ryan. He had played Rose's first boyfriend in Bob and Rose also written by Russell T Davies in which Rose was played by Lesley Sharp who was also in Midnight playing Sky, making it a triple reunion.

Sky being on the same transport with an ex from another show with his wife and son is no wonder Sky wanted to kill herself.

Ryan had also worked with David Tennant before in Secret Smile.
Coincidentally I also seeing Ryan in the current series of Survivors.
My Sci-Fi/Fantasy Security Council - Whoniverse, Blake's 7, Star Trek, Lost In Space, Babylon 5verse, Stargate, Buffyverse

My Doctor Who season count: 1-26 original series, 27-30 Paul McGann Big Finish (pre-2005), 31- current series.

Saw it for the first time tonight and ooooh I both love it and it annoys the crap out of me. Great acting by everyone and wow the dialogue.....the copying and speaking at the same time must have been such a challenge for everyone, especially Lesley Sharp. That bit with the square root of pi!

Great piece on human nature, what people are willing to do when they are terrified and how fear can be so contagious. The mum and dad annoyed me though. If I was stuck on a ship with them like that I'd be liable to throw them out! Ugh...I couldn't stand how hysterical they both were.

The Confidential bit was interesting. The Doctor lost all his 'power' when the thing in Sky started copying him so much.

Up there in my favourable episode list.
